    Tow car test: Volvo XC60

I pick mine up on Friday. A retirement present to myself as the company V60 goes back tomorrow. :)

    Volvo V60 R design

I tow an Elddis Crusader Mistral with 2014 V60 SE Lux d5. It's very good. Plenty of grunt and steady as a rock. My last two cars prior to that were also Volvos. Both V70s and d5 engines. All great tow cars.

South Wales in the Snow, and whither Pentax?

I've got 4 Pentax cameras. I bought a Spotmatic II around 1971. I then later swapped it in the mid/late '70s for a Pentax MX and then bought a second MX. I still have both and 5 of the M series lenses. I used them as part of my job and processed all my own black and white and most of my...

    Overnight near Roscoff port

Ar Kleguer is just around the corner from Trologot and just as easy for the ferry. It looks good and would be an ideal site

    Overnight near Roscoff port

De Trologot, Grève du Mar, Saint Pol De Léon, alanrogers.com/campsite/camping-de-trologot-fr29490 You can see the ferry from the site. It's only about 15 minutes away. A good site for a few days and ideal for exploring that part of Brittany.

    First trip to Brittany

It rained most of this August. The rain was, however, a little bit warmer than in Cornwall ;)

    First trip to Brittany

Have a look at Du Poulquer in Benodet, just south of Quimper. Stopped there this summer. It should tick most of your boxes. For fishing the sea is about 200 yards from the site entrance. The Odet estuary is very near for river fishing. About a couple of hours from Roscoff

Hot plate griddle or George Forman grill?

Cadac for me. The problem with some of the electric grills is that on some sites, especially abroad, they may use too much power and trip your connection.

    Volvo XC60 driven

I had a test drive in one last month. Very nice indeed. I'm looking to change my car after Christmas and at present it's a choice between the XC60 and the Jaguar F-Pace

    Nissan XTrail or Volvo XC60

    I don't have any experience of Nissans but my last 3 tow cars have been Volvos. Not 4 wheel drive but all D5 engines - a 2004 V70 d5 (163) manual, a 2007 V70 d5 ( 185 ) manual and currently a 2013 V60 d5 ( 215 ) Auto. I didn't have any trouble with any of the cars and all towed very well. I...

    Alko ATC reset power

The ATC usually remains connected during ferry crossings. I've never encountered any battery drainage even on the Plymouth to Santander 22 hour crossing

    What car to tow

I had a Unicorn Valencia last year. Pretty much the same 'van but the bed placed 90deg around. I towed it with a Volvo V60 d5 automatic. Solid as a rock through France to Spain and back and South Wales to Cornwall a few times. I had a Volvo V70 before and that was even better
