Hi, had a surf myself, 2.4 Auto, Would'nt recommend anyone thinking of towing a large van with a 2.4, go for a 3.0. The 2.4's are proned for the cylinder heads cracking when they get hot and curling up on all 4 corners. Also make sure you get your weights correct.....We had a Bailey Senator...

You should'nt have any problems with your van, but keep an eye on the gelcoat around the front grab handles, it has been known for it to start cracking due to the handles being fitted incorrectly and being stressed.

Having a similar problem myself at the moment on our 2005 Corona Amazon 556, the gelcoat is cracking around the front n/s grab handle. The dealer has had 4 attempts at repairing it to unsatisfactory standard. It has now got to the stage were we are returning the van under the sale of goods act.
