We're catching the Brittany Ferries sailing to Bilbao, leaving at 23.30h. Anyone know of a convenient Chinese or other takeaway nearby for our dinner? Thanks. Alan

    Alde 3020 Circulation Pump

The circulation pump in the Alde 3020 heating system in my Elddis Crusader Shamal has stopped working. It will run when removed from the header tank if coaxed but stops when reinserted in the tank. Can this pump be repaired or do I have to buy a new one at £160? Thanks for any advice. Alan

    Caravan Carpets

To save wearing the carpets supplied with my caravan I have bought gel backed carpet from IKEA, cut it to suit and it worked well. I need to replace the carpet after several years use but IKEA doesn't sell this type of carpet any more. Has anybody got a solution?

Overnight for caravan near Portsmouth Dock

We always fill up with fuel on the Continent. It's €1.40 for gasoleo A today around Santander. So that's about £1.20.

I must be getting senile! My post #13 says it's a £600 difference between sailing to Santander and going through France - it should be £60. Also, C&CC Chichester Site opens on 4 February. We'll be going there.

Transiting France with caravan from Spain

We're sailing to Santander in February (see previous posts), staying 2 months in Spain and returning via France. Does anybody know what the French regulations are currently, such as Covid pass , Attestation de Voyage etc.? It would be useful for planning. Thanks Alan

We're still planning our trip to Santander on 22 Feb. Now we shall stay at the C&C Club Site at Chichester. It's 10 miles from the ferry terminal and is open now.

Overnight for caravan near Portsmouth Dock

It's heartening to receive so much help on this. We're still hoping to travel on 22 Feb but will have to watch the COVID variants. We've travelled Irun-Pamplona-Zaragoza in winter over the years and find the Spanish keep the roads clear in the snow - far better than in UK! The car park at...

Many thanks for all your replies. We've booked for late February - warmer weather everywhere?! Back after Easter. We've now got plenty of choices of where to stay night before the ferry.

Thanks for the hints. We normally travel through France, sailing Portsmouth - Caen, but now there's only about £600 fare difference so the long sea route may be easier. We're still undecided - I'll be 82 when we travel so don't to travel too far in a day with the caravan!

Overnight for caravan near Portsmouth Dock

Rookesbury Park doesn't open till 11 March next year. To make things easier we've decided on a night sailing and stop at Navarrete on arriving at Santander next day. About 3 hours to Navarrete?

    Westfield Aries 350 Air Awning

Thanks for your thoughts guys. The instruction manual tells me to put the sealing poles in last. Like I said, I've put the awning up 3 times and it gets better each time. Still takes over an hour to complete, though!

    Westfield Aries 350 Air Awning

My previous awning was a Kampa Rally pro and I used limpets. The awning was 10 years old so had to be replaced. The Westfield doesn't have the gusset for fixing limpets. I'm trying to find someone who owns a Westfield awning to compare notes.
