    As a terrified wife, I can sympathise! However, the last time we went toI taly we went through the St Gottard on a Sunday morning, early! Bliss - no lorries and very quiet. We were down in Stresa before lunch and missed the mad Italian Sunday traffic as well. Coming back the tunnel was closed...

    Carcassonne - France

    We have stayed twice at a campsite attached to Chateau de Pennautier just outside Carcassonne but the last time we tried they were only accepting longer stays. Worth a go, though - it was great and there was an excellent restaurant next door at the chateau's vineyard. Easy to get to the aire...

    La Bien-Assise

    We always use this site for first and last nights on our annaul holidays to the south of France or to Italy. Easy access from Calais and good pitches. Agree about poor tollet blocks. Restaurant is a real treat for first night of the holiday.

    La Pergola Caravan Site, Doucier, Jura

    Has anyone stayed on this site? The pitches seem to be awkward to access. We have a Bailey Senator Arizona, aprox shiping length 7.3 metres. Any advice appreciated. Alison
