    Changing gas type

If your outfit is relatively new and is fitted with a bulkhead mounted regulator then all that should need to be changed is the gas bottle to regulator pigtail. Older units tended to use gas bottle mounted regulators and if your van is fitted like this then a new regulator and hose will be...

Pros and cons of toilet next to shower

We too usually use site facilities for showers etc. However, when off grid we do use the on-board shower and when this is in use there is a folding screen which protects the toilet from getting wet. There are two drain outlets in the shower tray so we don't have to be perfectly level when parked...

    Swift Kontiki 610 Water System

Most units have some form of drain down valve to allow the water system, including the water heater, to be drained down to prevent frost damage during the winter months. After a drain down, which probably took place before you took delivery, it is quite common to leave the drain down valve in...

    Hello.

Congratulations on getting your new toy. Here's hoping that you have many great trips in it and enjoy being on the road as much as we do.

    Radio reception

We had this issue with a new Swift and, after several complaints to the dealership they fitted a small dipole aerial to the nearside wing. Since then we have had no further issues with radio reception anywhere in the UK or mainland Europe.

    1995 hymer water tap

I'm not sure on this model how easy it is to examine the underside of the tap but I suspect that there may be a issue with the micro-switch on the underside of the tap.

    Hymer owner

Our Hymer was a 494 so only a 4 berth. We could have made up the bed in the lounge and live with it that way but we found that once the lounge double was made up it was almost impossible to use the toilet during the night. I don't have any issues with using the over-cab as additional storage as...

    Hymer owner

Our first van was a 2002 plated Hymer Swing and that got us hooked for life. With the OH having problems with the over-cab bed we swapped for a different layout three years ago, a 2-berth Swift. Although we both love the new layout I miss the quality of build that the Hymer provided us. Enjoy...

    Dashboard cameras?

I got some money from my kids for my last birthday and splashed it out on a Nextbase 402G. It's not the cheapest animal on the market but ticked all the boxes on my wish list, including GPS tagging average speed, etc.
