I think your theory is about right, but I wouldn't bother myself too much, no-one is going to get into your caravan whilst it's being towed. -
I just disarm the folding mirrors and leave them like that If they need to be folded I just do it manually

Never bothered with flush additive, can't see the point if it! Certainly don't use it at home. Another vote for bio liquid in the cassette.
