Does anyone use a dongle in a caravan?

Any decent phone can handle this realistically. I've literally just returned from a week in Weymouth with 2 kids using devices and me using my smart TV all using the hotspot from my phone. Only consideration was to ensure the phone is on charge as it works hard but no issues in quality for me...

Does anyone use a dongle in a caravan?

I just use a mobile hotspot from my phone and use the data/plan that I already have available. I then connect any devices to that hotspot when staying in the van. Easy way to get internet providing there's decent network signal available.

Elddis Avante 868 - Cold at the back! :(

I can't say for sure as it's still quite a new van to us but my suspicion will be that running it on gas will certainly provide enough heat at the back but then be too hot at the front. The issue isn't that I can't heat the back bedroom up enough, I can already do that just on electric. The...

Elddis Avante 868 - Cold at the back! :(

This is an option but one I'd like to avoid if I can. It's just more weight and another thing to pack plus takes part of my ampage allowance on-site. I'm not yet ready to admit defeat either so I'm going to try the insulation of the ducting approach and play about with it a bit when I go away...

Elddis Avante 868 - Cold at the back! :(

Thanks Buckman but I cannot close the front vents as they don't have a butterfly valve and the Whale unit manual states that they must remain open. However, the foil wrapping on the ducting is a good idea so I'll look into that (y)

Elddis Avante 868 - Cold at the back! :(

*** UPDATE - For anyone else reading this with a similar issue *** On further inspection, as already pointed out, the system I have is the Whale 4.3KW blown air system....my mistake sorry. Regarding the butterfly valves, the manual states:- "Ensure that a minimum of one of the hot air outlet...

Elddis Avante 868 - Cold at the back! :(

Ah - I didn't know this but I think it's an Alde wet system rather than Truma. Still, worth me looking into the manual to see if there's any guidance there although I would have hoped that the dealer would have adjusted it if there was.

Elddis Avante 868 - Cold at the back! :(

Hey guys - We bought a new Avante 868 this year and appear to be one of the lucky ones as we only had to wait 5 months to get it. We're a family of 4 with a 3 and a 7 year old so the bunk bed layout and bedroom contained at the back is perfect for us. There were some very early snag list sort of...

Hello campers!! New member from South Wales (Elddis Avante 868)

Hi all - I've been caravanning for 7 years and this year bought our new 868 which is our 2nd van. Pretty experienced at towing and probably take the van away about 6 - 8 times a year with the family and kids. Looking forward to being on a forum with activity (yes, slight dig at CAMC). Diolch...
