In France you have no problem , as it is a very motorhome friendly country. Most towns/villages have AIRES , which are for Mh , some have electric , water and emptying facilities In the super markets you can buy books which list these, but most are well signposted , You could buy ALL THe Aries...

New member with lots of questions can anyone help

Can only reiterate what has been said. Agree with Tony re licence. Medical if you want to drive over 3500. Not really necessary , IMO . Large vans can be a problem, cost more on ferry, some sites can't accommodate them re Mh or caravan, well we almost changed to a caravan, but did not. We...

    Leisure battery advice

It will depend on your style of motorhoming. We only have 1 battery and have managed for 11 years!, We go on sites with hook up mainly. It also depends on what you use. If you have a microwave then you will need extra (I believe) If only lights, Tv maybe should be OK, as long as you use the...

    Radio charging and water filters

Don't worry about water filter. Just use tank water for everything even in kettle. We buy bottled water for drinking, but use the tank for tea/coffee, cooking, no problems Have done so in same van for 10 years, and still here!! Motorhomers have to have a different outlook to caravaners!

You need to stick to the allowed weight of the van 4 people, plus ski, food clothes water fuel , will...

Personaly I would not buy new, as a first timer! You will lose a lot of your money if you don't get it right The lay out you think you like may not be right in practise. Hire before you commit ,

Advice on buying second hand demountable camper.

Can't see the point in them, except easier to "tow" than a caravan. You would still have to get out of cab to get in the living section, and may not be possible until you have demounted it?? Also look expensive to purchase. No a MH much better

Well done. Enjoy your new van. BUT don't over fill, you need to watch your weight.Put just basic items in. You do not need all things you need in a house!!.

    Motorhome ramps

You will definitely need ramps . also most likely wheel mats for when you are on wet ground. These save a lot of hassle when , a heavy vehicle has been standing (and sinking) in wet grass. We use tent pegs to anchor them
