Just to clear this up all together, any idea on which way switches have to be on fridge for it to work in car or just both on? There is a red and a black one both with on/off sides, and it says 12/240 above them? Sorry to keep on at this one. Chris

Excellent, thanks for all your help, its cleared up a few things. I tried fridge briefly while connected to car but prob wasnt long enough for it to cool as been stood for a while. Thanks again everyone, off to book our first site now!!

Does this mean the fridge should run when connected to the car through the towing electrics, and there is no need for a battery?

Thanks Peter. It would make sense because of the gas given off during charging, and sparks and gas etc etc. I only say it because there is a very battery shaped slot in the compartment on the a frame at the front. I could probably do without the battery but just be nice to have the fridge...

My caravan has got 2 7 pin plugs at the front so I guess this means i require a twin electrics kit? I plan to fit the towbar myself and was wondering if vehicle specific electrics are worth paying extra for and make fitting easier? thanks Chris
