Overnight Stop on way to the Coswolds

Done a similar journey 2 years ago - Edinburgh area to Broadway. We left in the morning and booked into the CC Low Park Wood near Kendal as this site is roughly half way and only minutes from the M6. Daughter was only 2 at the time so meant she only spending 3 hours or so in the car for each...

    Scarborough and whitby

We sayed at the CC site at West Ayton last year. Usual CC high standards, supermarket, petrol station, fish & chips and few pubs in the village. Only 4 miles from Scarborough and ideal for touring the area. Going back for a week in July but also liked the look of Lebberston Touring Park.

Steve, If you do not have the original handbook you may be able to download it from the Explorer Group Website. Their archive dates back to 2003. www.elddis.co.uk/archives.html Ours is a 2007 model and like Mickey each bunk has a mattress comprises of 3 folding small cushions that fit together.

Not sure if they are the same in the 2009 model but we have a 2007 Superstorm and on the left as you enter above the key holder are 3 switches. The first switches on the exterior awning light and second 2 are overide switches for the 12v lighting and mains operated lighting. When leaving at...

    Whitby

We spent 9 nights at the CC site near Scarborough in July and visited many of the places mentioned by Oklahoma. Would also recommend Eden Camp and FlamingoLand if you have kids - 2 great days out. Also several stately homes large and small within easy driving distance. Had not visited this area...

    damaged bed

Done exactly the same thing last year playing with my daughter. I needed to replace 2 slats and as these were only stapled to the webbing were easy to remove. I took one to a local timber yard who were able to cut 2 replacements for me to the exact shape and size. Like yourself the local B&Q...

    Jeep Grand Cherokee

We have a 56 plate Grand 3.0 CRD Limited and tow a van with an MTPLM of 1900kg - great car to live with solo and towing. We average around 24/25mpg solo and 20-22mpg towing. Had this car for just over 2 years and the only problem has been the failure of the alternator. Thankfully this was after...

    Thief

Doesn't need to be anything of value for some to steal, just that fact that it is not theirs and they can. Just back from a CC site outside Scarborough and during the week we had a couple of cheap canvas bags stolen from the laundry room. They were not of any value but useful. The wife left...

Hi Fiona, Will there be children in your party or do you want to be within walking distance of a village/pub etc? If not I would recommend The Ashes, (Adults only) which is about 4 miles outside Kendal and ideal for touring the North /South Lakes and the Yorkshire Dales whilst only a few...

    E-Class 320 CDi Sport

Thanks Guys, I had to the let the dealer know last weekend whether I wanted to proceed. However similar to Ray's response I was as not completely comfortable towing at the cars maximum capacity so decided against. Did not get as far as checking the noseweight but suspect this may also have been...

    From Scarborough to the Lakes

We will be travelling part of this route in reverse in a couple of weeks when travelling from the North to Scarborough. I have driven but never towed this route and would normally head for Thirsk from the A1 and onto the A170. However not having been in the Scarborough area for several years...

    E-Class 320 CDi Sport

Given some of the deals available we have been wondering whether to change our car or keep it for another year. At the same time we have been investigating alternatives to replacing with another 4x4 and have been offered a deal on the outgoing E-Class 320 CDI Sport saloon. Our caravan has an...

    Elddis Crusader supercyclone

We have a 2 year old Crusader Superstorm with the same L shaped lounge and issues when eating at the front of the van. It suits us as there are only 3 of us and the second parallel lounge at the rear can be used as fixed single beds like your Super Cyclone or to resolve the seating problems on...
