    Snooper Satnav

Don't use it in France with the speed camera updates as you will get fined. The TomTom sat nav app for iPhone comes with free map updates for life, the ability to search the internet for any of the places of interest types AND automatically switches OFF speed camera functionality for those...

If there were a 'jobs worth' award between the clubs I know which one would win it by a country mile! David

Caravan Club....don't you just love them?

They have a sign at Lower Wensleydale CC site saying Don't swing on the gate! If it hadn't been for that sign I'd never have even thought about it. Needless to say I had a little swing :) Dave

Hi Merve We've had a PurpleLine mover for 6 years now and had it fitted to 2 vans. It will still get our 1435kg van up onto a ramp to level it no probs. Regards Dave

Satellite system for France - will this one work?

Neil You can buy any cheap satellite reciever ( we used the Aldi one in Burgundy no problems and I think it cost a whopping £49.99) I can recommend the new High Definition ready one from the same supplier which costs a whopping £59.99. The key to receiving decent satellite reception is the...

Anual travel insurance for over 65 with 90 day trip length

Hi Vansmudge I've always just added overseas cover to the caravan insurance and made sure the contents element is sufficient to cover. I also add international recovery to the car insurance. Since we take the van on holiday I don't use separate holiday insurance. Dave

    Caravan Tracker problems

RogerL Would you happen to know if these hydraulic 'locks' can be engaged/disengaged using an electrical switch? If so they could be remotely operated which may be worth investiging. Dave

    Caravan Tracker problems

Surfer To be able to receive texts the Truma unit must have a SIM card and even if its pay as you go and loaded wiith some credits it will have had some cost, and whilst its not a monthly fee and may have been bundled in with the caravan unit initial costs it will no doubt have to be topped up...

    Caravan Tracker problems

RogerL I suppose when I think about it I probably wouldn't want my van back if it got pinched. I'll concentrate on the remote control aspect rather than tracking - I'd like to be able to switch my awning light and heating on from the pub on a dark winter night from my iPhone - then again in...
