    Suffolk 4x4 Show & Autojumble

Hello Brian, Good to hear that. I think it will be a great weekend and the ideal place for those Shiny towing hacks to partake of a little gentle offroading or greenlaning. Nothing too strenuous or damaging as we want you to have a good time and come back next year. :)

    Caravan Channel TV

I hav met Chris a couple of times. He's a nice guy who runs Felixstowe TV as well, which is an internet television station. SLROC were featured a few years back and more recently he made a programme on SKY about us lot too.

what's the best thing to remove green leavy dirt on the my ca...

I use the B&Q type detergent for pressure washers, TFR (traffic film remover) is good too. I use a hand held sprayer and just give all the green a good squirt followed by plenty of brush and water and it takes the lot off. Haven't found the answer to removing the diesel smuts/EP90 stains from...

    Roof light blowing off caravan-prosecution??

Yep, insecure load if you get the wrong cop. I nipped down to Chelmsford yesterday to pick up a bike on the trailer, and as i came back, there was a motor with caravan on the back going across an overbridge. What shocked me was their Heki rooflight, almost vertical as they drove happily along.

    Conwy Castle arches

I have been through the arches with a tilt trailer (HGV1) the like of which vary between 12' 9" and 13' 3" approx Let's just say it was very tight but nothing touched, in fact what I was picking up were pipes that has been used for draining the tunnel site, which will give you an idea of the...

locating drain plug for carver water heater on 1980's Pirouette

There should also be an air bleed screw in the top left corner of the cowl to make it empty a little faster too.

    Discharging the battery

It's easy to get confused with advice regarding NI-MH (rechargeable batteries) which do need to be fully discharged to negate the 'memory effect'. I swear by my 'Optimate' for battery maintenance. It can be left on all the time and continually monitors and maintains the batery in top health. I...

    sterilising water system

No I don't use the taps like I do at home for a drink. After all, that's what God invented bottled water for isn't it? The missus won't even clean her teeth with the tap water although I do.

    Poor motorway driving standards

It might be the lorry driver in me, but I do tend to give the 'hoverer' the chance to clear me, and if they keep hanging on, the indicator goes on, and if they are still there then that's a shame as I am on the way out. You can only be nice for so long before it gets a little tedious. Traffic...

    Knights of the road or

To be fair, most of the guys with a laptop on the dash are using Autoroute to find their way about, now that map reading skills are non-existant. by using a lappy instead of a TomTom or whatever, in the evenings they can watch a DVD, do some surfing, email home, and even use MSN to chat with...

    Club's - Worth it?

Well thank you for taking the time to reply. If I'm honest, I wouldn't be bothered about ferry crossings: I can find plenty of beautiful places in this country to stay without the need for a phrase book (no plans to visit N Wales either, at the present time). I do see a possible benefit in the...

    Club's - Worth it?

Okay, wasn't sure which heading to put this under so plumped for here. Bought a new (to me) caravan. Very pleased with it and while rummaging through all the instruction books and various literature and receipts, came across a 2007 members pack for CCC. This is good, I thought loads of places...

    sterilising water system

A timely warning JTQ, so what is the recommended solution, as I certainly don't want issues, myself. I have a cascade though I think, as it's a 1997 County

    Knights of the road or

Clockwork said: "If they tore up rail track for lorries to use we could all be happier." This was talked about several years ago, early eighties possibly, the major problems being the low height of bridges (we used to have to do Felixstowe to Holyhead with overheight (9' 6") containers) and...
