another question re fitting ALKO shocks

I also have a Mk 1 Powrtouch fitted to my Jubilee Envoy (2007)and was told by Powrtouch that I would not be able to fit shock absorbers. I can not really see the reason why, because according to the Alko Specs and Technical data the space required in Fig 5(a) for dimesion D is 52 - 75 mm. I...

Help please re: Imprinted Concrete driveways

I had my drive relaid a few years ago with 2ft x 2ft paving slabs, having also considered paviers, tarmac and impressed concrete. The contractor was willing to do any of these surfaces but pointed out the following disadvantages: concrete is fine for a while, but will need re-colouring every...

    Mobile caravan engineer-Charmouth/Bridport area

I have used, and can recommend without hesitation, PB Caravan Services. Paul Bridle is based in Crossways near Dorchester and is Caravan Club and NCC approved. I do not know how far he will travel, but I am fairly sure that Charmouth would be within his area. He can be contacted on 01305 852650.

    Full size lightweight awning

If you want something really light, why not have one of the sun canopies which come with sides. The same size as a full awning but you do not have the front panels. Much easier to put up, about half the weight. We have a full awning, porch awning and a canopy. The porch is used for very...

    Camping Val du Bonnal -Jura

It's an excellent site with massive pitches. Part of a leisure complex with a few lakes, one of which has a great beach, and another which is only used for fishing. It is rather remote but that also makes it feel very peaceful.

    Paris campsites

Hi Ron We stayed at Jablines a few years ago and itr is an excellent site within a huge leisure complex. A bus leaves from just outside the site to the station at Marne-le-Vallee - Chessy which serves Disney Paris, and also is the RER station for trains straight into Paris. If I remeber...

    Jockey wheel/motor mover

When I had my Powrtouch mover fitted 7 years ago I bought a replacement jockey wheel with pneumatic tyre and had endless problems with punctures. Replaced the wheel with a solid 3 inch wide wheel and had no more problems. I noticed that on the pneumatic tyre the caravan would bounce quite a...

    ANYBODY "DUNE" THIS?

We stayed in this area a few years ago and there were no problems with steeply sloping pitches or caterpillars. The big danger is the very tall pine trees and their enormous pine cones! The squirrels would pull the cones off the top of the tree, nibble on them briefly and then drop them...

The CC site at Folkestone racecourse closed down over a year ago. The nearest CC site to Dover is now Black Horse Farm near Folkestone.

You should be able to buy them at any good caravan accessory shop. Had to buy spares myself a few weeks back, think they were about 80p each in packets of 4 Dorsettaffy

    C&CC Reward Points

At the Spring Bank Holiday I tried to use up 20 "miles" from my 2007 passport with 20 from my 2008 passport to be told that I could not combine them. I was very annoyed because it was by then too late to use the 20 from 2007 which were effectively wasted. I contacted Customer Services at the...

Recommendations Rhein Valley or Western Brittany

In mid July we spent just over a week at Campingplatz Loreleyblick at St Goar-am-Rhein. It is about 12 miles south of Boppard and I can highly recommend it. The site extends for about 1 kilometre along the banks of the Rhine opposite the Lorley rock and is about half a mile from the centre of...

Towing from Chepstow to The Forest of Dean

Thanks for that Steve. I think we will probably use the A466 and A4136 to get to Christchurch, and suss out your route for the return journey as we want to visit Coleford and Lydney when we are there.
