Trev, many thanks. I have tried this option connecting the 12 leads using a block connector. However when I connect the car to the van nothing happens. Light do not function and ALKO light does not come on. I have also tried replacing the relevant fuse! I am worried I may have done...

...or has anyone else made the same mistake? I have managed to travel about 400 miles to the Dordogne, with the cable from the car to my new caravan having dragged along the road. The result is the wires have been completely burnt through by the friction. I nievely hoped that connecting them...
