We've been in the Caravan Club for 25 years now, and I really can't fault them! Graham

    April Issue -Front Cover

Caroline,I saw this lovely-looking site too, and put a post up here asking the same thing as you. It is in fact Park Cliffe Caravan and Camping Estate (????-did they mean Site?) between Newby Bridge and Windermere. Regards Graham

    Carnon Downs Caravan Park, Cornwall

Many thanks for your prompt and helpful replies. Now, if it ever stops raining in here Gloucestershire, and if they can put the A40 back together again in time, we may well get to Carnon Downs. Regards Graham

    Carnon Downs Caravan Park, Cornwall

My wife and I are thinking about spending a week at this well-recommended site. The only thing that concerns us are reports of traffic noise from the adjacent main road and roundabout. Can anyone give us any idea just how bad this can be, on a scale of say 10, please? Also, can you choose your...

    Mystery site

On the front cover of the April 2008 edition of Practical Caravan, there is a large picture of a very attractive-looking site, which looks to be somewhere in the UK. Does anyone know what site it is, please? Many thanks, Graham

    Getting on a Ferry

I tend to remove my jockey wheel before boarding if the ramp looks particular steep, so it won't ground. It has happened. I put it in a plastic bag in the boot until our first stop. I also remove my strap-on towing mirrors once we are on the car deck, a) to prevent theft and b) to stop them...

    Sun blinds

We just prop cardboard and a few sunscreen things inside the windows when the van is not in use. It seems to work, because the curtains and upholstery are fine after 6 years. Cheers, Graham

Touring Caravan Sites North West Scotland

We stayed at Scourie in May of this year, and found it an excellent site. It's also very convenient for trips over to Handa Island, the bird sanctuary. Graham

    Bunree CC site

We came back from the north of Scotland last Sunday. We'd planned to come back South over the Forth Bridge, but it had terrible congestion because of massive roadworks, so we diverted to the Kincardine Bridge. There are some roadworks there too, but not too bad. My advice is to avoid the FB like...

    Black Forest

Neil, In the South Black Forest both Camping Belchenblick and Feriencamping Munstertal are very good, and should fit the bill. Both are very close to the beautiful little town of Staufen-im-Breisgau. There's also Camping Kirchzarten near Freiburg, though we haven't stayed there. Best of luck...

    Fuel in Scotland

Does anyone have an idea of the latest petrol/diesel position up in the north of Scotland, please, as we are due to set off up there next Friday for about 17 days? I've tried the AA and RAC websites, but can't find anything much. In fact the whole business has gone rather quiet, presumably while...

Provence and the Canyon du Verdon

We stayed at Castellane in May 2005, at Camping Frederic Mistral, which is a five-minute walk from the centre. There are lots of sights around. Castellane is a lovely little place; like Toytown, really, and the whole area is utterly magnificent. We spent a full day driving through the Gorges du...
