Just catching up, it's been a few weeks! Ref the question of using the lorry pumps at motorway services, we asked a French friend this summer and he said that there are different tax rates on the lorry pumps' fuel. And I seem to recall, different nozzle sizes which don't fit cars.

As on the UK motorways, fuel will be significantly more expensive on the autoroutes than in the supermarket. When we head to the south of France we often unhitch for our overnight stops and my husband nips to the local supermarket.
