    Truma Ultrastore Gas Problem

Water heater works fine on mains but no ignition for gas. It's been suggested that the circuit board needs replacing. Anyone had the same problem?

    Camos Crank-up System

Anyone used a Camos Crank-up System for receiving satellite signals? Seems a very good idea and saves putting up the dish in the rain etc.

    frozen toilet pump

Might not be the fuse. Could be piece of grit etc caught in the little fins on the pump. This had happened to me twice. The first time a mobile engineer was on site and he fixed it (£25). The second time I knew what to do(!!) so I fixed it myself. You get at the pump in my van (Bailey Senator)...

Midges on West Coast of Scotland

I want to visit the West Coast of Scotland during 2011 but my wife is very concerned about the possibility of midges! When will the best time,( i.e. fewest midges), to visit such places as Oban, Onich, Mallaig etc. Both retired so we can go any time. Also advise re sites and also CL's appreciated.

    Ultraheat Element

Thanks Damien but the engineer confirmed that the'element' was broken. I had done all the normal checks (been caravanning for 35+years!!) before I rang the engineer. He thought a similar component may be found in Maplins.

    Ultraheat Element

AT our last outing the Ultraheat Water Heater refused to work on mains. I checked the circuit and concluded the element had gone. Mobile engineer came the following day and confirmed my diagnosis and fitted a new element.(£100) While chatting to him he mentioned that, probably the element itself...

    Yellowing Sealant

My Bailey Senator is now six years old and the sealant round the shower tray is yellowing. I'm sure this has happened to other showers so please tell me what I can do.

    Seized Corner Steadies !

Suggest you try some thin lubricating oil. Apply liberally and leave for a few hours and then try to turn with an old fashioned handle/ wheel-nut spanner. Bit drastic to scrap the van!!

    Cold weather 'drain down' advice

If it's likely to freeze it might be sensible to take off the water filter. I'd never done that but mine froze last year and caused quite a mess when I filled the system afterwards.( In my Senator it's behind the heater)

    Blind Spare Part

The little nib(?) projection(?) used to hold the blind down on the front window of our Senator (04) has broken off. Anyone know where I can purchase the little plastic end-piece for the blind? Many thanks.

    Where to jack caravan?

I fitted my Kojack brackets just behind the mover and it seems to work fine. As long as you are near the axle you should be able to use any of your jacks.

    Extra Power etc

Read some very positive reports on DPT (a 'box' to enhance the BHP and Torque of diesel cars. All sounds very easy and promising. Anyone with experience of using DPT? (Not interested in chipping my car.)

storage ,sorry if this is a silly question !!!!

Most caravans have pipes, wires etc in at least one of the lockers. Just make sure that what you store doesn't snag with the cables and pipes. If you were really worried you could cover them with something but we've never bothered in 30 years and never had a problem. Remember not to cover any...

    cc site St Davids, Pembrokeshire

Quite close to the beach and St David's. Bit open and not much shelter but plenty of things to do in the area.
