Turning into gates with 8 meter long caravan

i have had a similar problem, a narrow gate (housing estate rules cant widen gate)...and a road sign just opposite the gate...preventing a sharp swing in. motor mover seems to be the only answer

    Burning smell

I think you're hitting the nail bang on the head here, although I will take the advice of the other posters, check the nose weight, get it serviced etc. Thanks. To think that a tankful could get me from Cherbourg to Royan (and possibly back,) now towing I'll have to refuel on the way.

    Burning smell

I did notice the oil temp getting higher maxing out at 115, even though the needle was reading 90. When you say "no overheating problems" do you mean temp staying around the 90-95 markr?

Climate Change - Will diesel really be banned?

Electric cars will evolve, the only all electric suitable for towing is a Tesla, but personally speaking that is out of my price range. Until a car suitable for towing is made affordable, we are stuck with diesels or be pushed ou altogether Popular opinion will win with the politicians. Small...

    Burning smell

I'm new to this, towing something as big as a caravan behind me. We have a Fleetwood Sonata Prelude, MRO1100kg, MPTLM 1425kg, but actual towed weight would be closer tp 1300kg with whta we had in. It was towed by a skoda superb 2.0 diesel, 150bhp (2wd) . The car pulled ok (i didn't know what to...

    Motor Mover / Battery Query

Sorry, another question. If the caravan is lying up, should I disconnect the battery. I can't seem to find a master switch. I'm afraid there is a leak of power somewhere draining the battery and if left connected it will be drained in a few days. Thank you in advance

    Motor Mover / Battery Query

rather than starting a whole new thread on a similar topic, our 2006 fleetwood has a battery, could be the original, that is dead. when i hook the car up with the 2 leads, the towing lights work, courtesy of the black lead, but no power from the grey lead. i connected the battery and still no...

    Just purchased...waiting delivery!

I did fear the extra cable so I got an adaptor with no cable. It's just a 13 pin on one side and two seven pins on the other . Neat thing but I'll wait for problems. I might get the plug on the caravan changed to 13 pin.....

After some years of will we/won't we...we did! We bought a 2006 Fleetwood sonata prelude. It has 2 x 7 pin plugs, our car has a 13 pin so i bought an adaptor.to split my cars 13 tp 2x7 and assume the darker plug is for the tail lights...the lighter plug is for the electrics...? I was told i may...

    Caravan Electrics - Fridge

Thanks for all that, I've just found out from the tow bar fitter that if you have a 13pin (modern) on the car then you can get a 13-to-7 pin adapter for ordinary trailer work or a splitter (13-to2x7 pin for older caravans), both for about £10 each....

    Caravan Electrics - Fridge

Thanks for that. would you have any idea how old or young a caravan would be to definitely need only one plug?
