Hmm, I think the new models may have cheaper versions of the struts; according to the markings, they come from Slovakia and don't seem very solid. Also, the Hypnos mattress (optional extra) may be heavier than the standard one, but the struts should still be able to cope.

This made me smile, as I had an image of you being launched out of bed in the middle of the night when you turned over - rather like a medieval trebuchet! Maybe we could swap struts then?
