    caravan door locks

Janet. You will be lucky to remove them without damage. I had to use a very sharp 4" nail which I dug in and forced it out. They are available from a good dealer. This lock is a disaster and so many have had problems with it and a great number have been replaced by dealers. I should have...

    7 Pin sockets, be careful!

Ron D. This happened to me a few years back. The solution is simple, drill a 1/4" hole in the bottom of the socket cover, any moisture that enters drains away. As an added precaution I also give the the socket a quick spray with silacon oil before I push the cover on. Good luck. JTS.

Damian (Moderator). Thank you for your prompt reply. We are aware of MCEA but were rather hoping that a member had personal experience of a good engineer in that area. Thanks again. Good luck. JTS.

Replacing the plug on an electric coobox

Claire & Rob. Better still, sweeten the electrician up with an extra spoonful of sugar in his coffee and get him to teach you hou to use your soldering iron and how to isolate your teminals. Good luck. JTS.

    Carcinogenic Hose?

Colin. Who ever told your guest that garden hose is not suitable for caravan use, apart from washing it, was quite right. You must use hose marked "food safe" and is usualy green or blue in colour. Sold in dealers shops, Towsure etc. Good luck. JTS.

    Product tests in Practical Caravan

Nigel. Further to my earlier post regarding tyres.I can understand the requests for articles regarding the luxury/convenient aspect of caravanning and support the ideas, however, when I think of my ealier post on tyres and then the post by Val A on water, I would like to suggest that a...

    Product tests in Practical Caravan

Hi Nigel, I think that a comprehensive article on caravan tyres is "Long Overdue". Some time ago I posted an article about tyres, one member actually posted "what a load of rubbish" but I notice from his frequent posts that he is not the most experienced caravanner and by his habits is not the...

Dog friendly beaches in France in particular vended

Hi Ian Mc. the area you are going to has large wide beaches all along the Atlantic coast and dogs are allowed. We have been going to this area for years and have never seen a "NO Dogs Allowed" sign. Some areas may require you to keep your dog on a lead. There are also lots of woodland walks in...

    Maplin's Camping Satellite Kit

Claire & Rob. I forgot to ask you about your digital connecter in your caravan. I can not see why the manufacturer would have put it there, I can only assume that you have a further digital connecter somewhere on the outside of your van. If you have an outdide locker check in there, or the...

    Maplin's Camping Satellite Kit

Claire & Rob. Connecting a cable to your sat socket will get you nothing. As I said before you need a sat receiver with a dish. I have recently kicked Sky into touch and the house and caravan are on FREESAT and we are so pleased with it. No subcription and all freeview programmes plus some...

    Maplin's Camping Satellite Kit

Claire & Rob. I am a little confused by your post. You say you are about to invest in a satellite dish and wonder how it would connect to your TV. What are you wanting to do, if you are just wanting to receive Freeview you do not need a Dish. A dish does not connect to your TV unless you have...
