    Air awnings.

I Sorry about the late reply Grey, been away for 9 nights. Poles are as per link posted, we had quite heavy rain over a couple of nights, no pooling on the roof whatsoever. Our awning doesn’t have any fixings for a storm strap, we have the type that goes over the roof. Regards Kev

    Air awnings.

Having loaded my isabella awning today I can comment as follows. With the awning and carbon x poles in separate bags it is all quite manageable to carry by one person. It is also easy to fold and pack away. Our previous Kampa air awning was quite bulky to fold into its bag, I always thought...

    Air awnings.

Isabella Minor with carbon x poles for me. Just loaded it in the car actually and pretty light per bag to be honest. Easy to erect and with correct pegging and a suitable storm strap, faces all the weather I’ve encountered. We did have a Kampa fiesta air pro, it’s was heavy, bulky and always...

    Bank Holiday Crash.

That must be one hell of a scary ride when an outfit gets that out of shape. We have just got home after a cracking weekend in betws y coed (riverside), on the way home we passed ( going the other way in slow traffic) a VW Golf towing a very large twin axle van, I do wonder about some people’s...

Replacement Tyres - what's out there?

I put a pair of the Hankook vantra’s on my van a few weeks back after noticing the original, 3 y/o Durun were badly perished. Hankook are original fitment on my 2019 Audi and feel fine so far. Kevin

    Tyre shock

So, my issue is now concluded, had a pair of Hankook Vantra LT fitted today, even rung Hankook tech dept and they advised the tyres are perfectly suited (suppose they would say that). Their spec is the same as the Durun but higher load rating. Anyways, all on, torqued up and will re-torque...

    Tyre shock

The I will look at the make Clive, makes you wonder how many vehicles are riding round with defective tyres, Note. Tyres are made by Durun, a Chinese brand and seems to be a brand that swift use. Lots to read on the web regarding their poor performance. Check you tyres! Kev

    Tyre shock

I thought I would add a note to this thread. We were away down south at the end of may, checked tyres and tyre pressures at that point and all was well. Booked to go away for the weekend so Friday morning got my compressor fired up and pressure gauge out. Checked tyre pressure on first...

New Shape BMW 5 Series Touring Stability

I have a 2017 530d Touring. Fantastic bit of kit both solo and when towing, no stability issues whatsoever. Prior to this one, I had a 2015 520 Touring and that was very good too. What tyre pressures are you running? Kev

    Isabella Porch Awnings

We wanted the Magnum but it came halfway across a window so instead went for the Minor in Coal and carbon x. A cautionary tale here, we wanted a used one so kept an eye open. Found one that was 2nd hand but never used (elderly couple). Pictures were taken off the Isabella site and showed...

Seasonal Awning? Air or Pole? Talk to me...

Bought a new Kampa air awning last year with the van (new but 2nd owner so quite cheap). Used it for 1 week and thought it to be a piece of tatt. Sold on for a small profit. Bought a new Isabella Minor in the sept sales and have used it for 2 weeks and love it, great quality and looks so...

    Gas for winter

When we bought our new van last year we were requested to bring along our Leisure battery and Pigtail/Gas bottle for the demonstration / fitting. Kevin.

    Gas for winter

We van all year round so have used propane for many years with no issues whatsover, even the beast from the east didnt stop us (well it stopped us towing the van home but that wasnt an issue, just left on site with heating on very low to prevent freezing and collected a few days later) good...

    Stop-start what a waste of a V8

Mine gets switched off, it makes a lovely smooth car very clumsy. Kev

    Buying a new caravan

At the handover of our new swift last year, I found a loose cupboard handle that I had noted during the first inspection a week before. With me spotting that, I asked for a service engineer to accompany me during my check of the van. I checked every lock, latch, hinge and fitting that I could. I...
