    HELP!! Water pumps/water waste??

PS forgot to say, the grey water pipes are simply push fit onto the grey outlets covered by a plastic flap. Just put the waste container under the pipe & gravity will do the rest.

    HELP!! Water pumps/water waste??

Alex, It sounds like the drain switch has been left open to completely empty the water system. Have a look under the front locker close to the water heater, there should be a yellow toggle switch in the pipework. If this is pointing straight up, the switch is open & water will simply pour out of...

    Sureflo pressurised water system

We have similar problem with sureflo in our Sterling, the only difference is ours runs for about 2 seconds then shuts the pump switch off & displays "pump overload". Have checked all joints in pipes & valves - no leaks, so stuck with it !

Nice site in Lake District ?????

Hi Dan, We stayed at the Quiet Site, Ulleswater 2 weeks ago. Shower block has been refurbed & is immaculate. Bar is cosy for adults, great for all aged kids as has soft play area upstairs for little uns & air soccor, table football, pool, table tennis & tv lounge downstairs. This was our first...

    water pump overload.

Gary, Thanks for the reply. The pump is a shurflow which works on pressure rather than micro switches.

    water pump overload.

Can anyone suggest why the water pump in our sterling elite onyx keeps cutting out & display panel shows " pump overload " even though no one has touched a tap for an hour or more ? We are used to it sometimes happening when a tap is turned on - especially in the washbasin, but this is something...

    Digital T.V, reception Advice required

Hi Gilbert, We also have a digital tv that works fine when connected to the house arial but will not pick up digital signals in the van when on our drive. It is because the transmitter signal is being blocked by the house, as we have the same problem if trying to use the set in the house with an...

    Al-Ko secure compact wheel lock

One of these came with our new van & I am very impressed with it. For single axle vans like our it has so far been very easy indeeed to line the wheel up. The added bonus is it's lightness to carry & difficulty in removal by thieves. The only thing that puzzles me is why they are always fitted...

    towing mirrors

I currently use the suck it and see mirrors, bought this year after 10 years of using smat magnum clip on types. The upside is no paintwork marks on the door mirror housing & fantastically easy to adjust from inside the car. The downside is the mirrors are quite small & take some getting used to...

    Sunshades whilst laid up

Hi Pete, We had same issue with our Sterling Sapphire. To solve it we bought several metres "off the roll " of weed suppressing membrane from the local garden centre, cut it into sizes a bit bigger than each window & then used plastic clematis rings to hang it from the curtain rails. Use a felt...

    be aware !

John, If the new towbar had a "gold type" towball & the van had a AKS stabiliser then this is probably why it flipped - the two are incompatible. Alko sell a specially extended neck towball as the standard type does not give enough clearance from the bumper for the AKS stabiliser to hitch to...

    C/C No Shows !!

Mike, I share your frustration and there must be hundreds of other CC members out there likewise. The "no shows" situation has always been a bone of contention within the CC, so it was a big suprise when they decided to remove the booking fee completely, since the introduction of online...

Red Plug : What's it for.

Rubix, What's the red plug for ? Simple: It's to ensure that all water is completely drained from your taps & pipes, which is especially important if you lay your van up for the winter. All vans are different, but on my sterling there is a yellow drain tap/lever to drain the water heater, plus...

    Which is the best hitchlock

P, "Best hitchlock" is a matter of personal choice. I can personally vouch for the Alko as simple to fit, lightweight (compared to others)& it is able to be used whilst the van is hitched to your car, so extra peace of mind on those motorway service breaks. Les.
