    route plan

I did reply to your earlier post suggesting La Catiniere (in Caravan Club Overseas Travel book). This site is not far from the exit just after you have gone over the Pont de Normandie at Le Harve.

Looking for info about sites in Millau

We stayed at Les Rivages last year on the way back north. Lovely site - well laid out pitches - good shop, bar etc. Direct access to the river for canoeing. You can see the bridge from the river on site. We took the exit before the bridge and headed to the site. Pitched our caravan then...

    hurray all booked!

At last - you've done it. Hope all goes well and you have all the planning to look forward to for next year also. Stop over on route to Brittany - depending on route you take you could try La Catiniere by Le Harve - not far off the main road after crossing the Pont de Normandie. We are now...

    wow this is tiring..............

La Bien Assise at Guines (15 mins from Calais) is fine for late arrivals. You just pull onto any pitch close to reception.

    wow this is tiring..............

If you prefer Portsmouth to Cherbour, have you tried a Condor sailing - there and back on a Sunday (even in high season) when caravans go free. You should get this for as little as £250 return. Now and even when our children were younger we drive down to Portsmouth in the evening when the...

hello new to forum and need some advice for our first trip abroad.........

If you are having to do that sailing then you might wish to have a one night stop half way - perhaps by Caen. Look at Camping la Catiniere just pasdt Le Harve. Hve you tried getting a sailing through either Caravann Club or Camping Cheques with Condor Ferries. These are offering a Sunday...

hello new to forum and need some advice for our first trip abroad.........

We like Camping des Isles in southern Brittany at Penestin. The site has direct access to the beach, has a nice pool complex, bar and restaurant. They do have their own website which you can look at. They are in the Caravan Club overseas book and also take Camping Cheques and Touring Cheques...

    Les Castels- Dordogne

That road is fine - we went down it in a 26' twin axle. The only thing I would say is that we had trouble following the CC directions. We took the following turning on the right by the garden centre which we found to be more caravan friendly.

    Abroad with young children

We have 2 children (11 and 7) and stayed at Camping Les Mimosas in Narbonne last year. It is now a "Yelloh" site and, although we do not normally go for this type of site the children loved it, especially the evening entertainment. We went in August and, although the site was busy, it did not...

    Les Castels- Dordogne

We called at both these sites about 3 years ago. We had paid for a whole week at St Avit with the Caravan Club but pulled out after 3 nights and went to Moulin du Roch. St Avit probably has more for your children to do but the touring pitches we thought were an "after-thought" and the main...

    Brittany Ferries

If you check on the Camping Cheques website it gives you details of the discounted sailings with Brittany i.e. caravans go free. I think this is sailing after 18th august and returning after 1st or 2nd September. I obtained a quote for the last two weeks of the school holidays returning at the...

    La Ruisseau des Pyrenees (Castels)

We went to have a look at this site when in the area and staying at Pavillion Royale - an all touring site right on the beach at Bidart. Le Ruisseau was mainly statics with a few spaces for touring around the pool area. Did not really appeal to us.

Sites in Normandy and Paris & North

We always stop at Martragny when in that area. We called at Hautes Coutures one April when Martragny was closed and would now always avoid it. There is no shop, the pitches are small and the pool complex dirty. Martragny is very we laid out and is now all touring whereas H.C has many statics...
