    service

We have a Coachman Amara 2009 model. Last year we had the caravan serviced at the dealership where we bought it from in Oxfordshire. This year we have just had it serviced for around £180. The dealership charged just over £200 in 2010. We chose an NCC mobile mechanic who is brilliant. Also...

Dogs and Owners & Pitch cut throughs

Why do parents allow their children to take the dog to the exercise area? I have now lost count of the times children take the dog, they don't carry bags to clear up, they have no intension of picking up the mess, and most parents wouldn't want their children clearing up dog mess, so why do...

CC mayday, which level of cover do you have

I have also been looking into breakdown cover, I didn't realise that if its the caravan that has a problem the RAC won't help at all (unless you join the C&CC and pay the extra for Arrival cover). When I rang the AA they said they wouldn't leave us stranded on the motorway, but that we may be...

    Green Flag/RAC/AA

We have been members of the RAC for well over thirty years and have found them to be very good. Years ago the head gasket went while on the M4 and they towed our car home with the caravan. We obviously didn't get away for the planned week-end but at least we wern't stranded on the hard...

    Cadac Carrichef Deluxe

I'm sure you already have, but just to make sure the flames are coming out of the jets properly and not just on one side? Also, the cadac has various cooking surfaces, we only use the one we need rather than build them up in lots of layers. Hope this helps, if you still don't find it works...

    the new bailey olympus

Just had a look at Bailey's own website - there are loads of pics plus the 360 angle views of the new Olympus - I think it does look nicer than the Pegasus, they all have wrap-around seating though but front centre table is optional, no BBQ point though - shame!

Hitch Lock alarm - seems like a FAB product.

Sounds like a good idea, although is it very difficult to fit? If it is easy to put on, why would you have it on at night if there is a risk it might go off and wake the whole site up? Surely it would be better fitted when on motorway service areas, storage etc or if you are leaving the van...

Rear Drain Connection Problems - Myth or Reality?

We bought a new Coachman last year and asked the dealership to reroute the waste outlet pipes even before we went to collect the caravan. They are now at the side (near the wheel to get the maximum drop. We had a caravan years ago with the waste points at the rear of the caravan it was a real...

    Adults only with indoor pool?

Looks like there is a gap in the market here! If I ever win the lottery, I'll buy a site in a nice place and with an indoor pool so we can all have a nice peaceful swim! Thanks for the info about Beaconsfield site, although it would be nice to head to a more coastal area, either South West...

    Adults only with indoor pool?

Does anybody know of any nice adults only sites with an indoor swimming pool? Will also need to walk the dog, I don't suppose there are any such sites? (And no, I don't hate children, I have grandchildren! But we just fancied a quiet swim with the chance to try and get fit without the noise of...

    Did the dog get found?

Saw the post from John - just wondered if there is any news about the missing dog with the muzzle on? I hate the thought of a poor dog suffering - keeping fingers crossed.

Forget the Snow "Terrorist Threat Assessment"

I laughed and laughed at this, brilliant!

    4 X 4's popular again!

I am not a particularly religious person, but perhaps is this where the story "Noahs Ark" comes from? Sea levels, heavy rain, its starting to sound familiar now. All governments feel the need to be "seen" to be doing something, perhaps extra taxes will help to relocate people, I just wish they...

    4 X 4's popular again!

Yes, they did live a simple life in caves etc but however they lived, they did not particularly cause the ice age with their simple lifestyle, as the ice spread they possibly did up-sticks and move further away from it, the same would apply when the ice retreated, the point I am making is that...

    4 X 4's popular again!

Yep Lutz, thats what I said, no cars, planes etc but what got rid of the ice? Earth heated up anyway, irrespective of how many people there were or how many feet they were above sea level, we seem to be living at the end of a warm wet cycle, the sea levels rose before and slowly the next ice age...
