That is the car we've got in the MK-4 spec, good tug with lots of power and torque, stable and secure to tow with as well. All in all more then enough to tow our Lunar Clubman with MTPLM of 1465kg.

And in most cases you also will need B+E if you will be towing with the Sportage this due to GVW/MAM of 2250kg (according to my V5) which leaves you with a MTPLM of 1250kg.

Only can agree with the others: E&P is the way to go. Got this now on our caravan for 1 1/2 year and never want to look back anymore. Literally one push of the button and watch it all happen. Ok, comes at a price but in our opinion money very well spend.

Current tow car is a Kia Sportage mild hybrid diesel automatic, before that always had a manaul. Since we got the automatic no plans going back at all to a manual. So much easier in stop/start traffic as well and on site for reversing onto the pitch (if and where possible).

Yes to winter caravanning for us, all year round when possible. But then again maybe we are spoiled with the Alde heating in our caravan. Put it on a set temperature and it will stay nice and comfy or is my wife calls it: nice and toastie.

We've got the latest Sportage 2.0 Diesel and when towing just leave it in Drive mode, the box and engine handle towing very well, nothing else needed.
