    Norfolk cl's

Hi, alan, we are going to Oakhaven, Dog Lane, Horsford which is 5m NW of Norwich. Probably not as far north as you want, but it sounds great. We are going on 5th August for a week. It has EHU, wc, h&c, shower etc. Best of all, for us, it's adults only!

    Summer Hols

As a fellow school teacher, I can sympathise, however, we have a dog who is too old to travel to France, so we stay in GB One week just outside Norwich on a CL in August, moving on to a CL at Leek in Staffordshire for a week. Various weekends as and when we can grab them, and a weekend at a...

    FAO the Mod - CL's

We have been caravanning for about 20 years, and like many others startyed off using commercial sites. We went on to use CC sites, then rallies and now we tend to use only CL's. we have had one DREADFUL one, at Sandhead, Dumfries and Galloway, some years ago, the rest have been sometimes...

    dogs - "certain breeds accepted"

We have boarding kennels near us which don't accept certain breeds, because 'other owners won't bring their dogs if they see we have Staffies/rottweilers,/bulldogs etc'. We have a 15year old Staffie ***** who we got as a pup fromm a rescue centre. Over the years, she has never attacked another...

    hymer caravans

We have a Dethleffs Camper 470DL 2 berth, which is made by the Hymer group. Superb build quality compared to British vans, and we have had a lot of different makes over the last 20 years. Our caravan is 7'6" wide, over 15' long internally, and weighs in at 1150kg MIRO. This includes 2 full...

    Sutton Bank

Down the A19 from the North? Turn off on the A174, then off on the A172, pass Stokesley, then head through Great Broughton towards Helmsley. Once you get to Helmsley, you are on a straight run to Pickering. The route across from Great Broughton to Helmsley has some steep parts, but the...

    Dethleffs

Try dethleffsowners.co.uk, although we may be a little biased about Dethleffs! We have only had our Camper 470DL for a few weeks but we are very pleased with it. We have had loads of other makes over the last 20 years, and think the dethleffs is the best built caravan we have had. The extra...

Superb adults only CL, nr Silloth

We have just enjoyed a few days on a fantastic CL at Abbeytown, nr Silloth, convenient for the Solway Coast for birdwatching, or for the quieter north Lake District. The Site is Horn House Farm, and there are 7 pitches, 3 grass, 4 pea gravel hardstanding. All pitches have electric hook up...

    New member

Welcome to the site, Janette. Pleased to read about your recommendation of Dethleffs as we have just bought our first one, a 470DL (no grandchildren!) and have only managed on weekend away so far. Very pleased with it up to now, though. Have you seen the Dethleffs owners club website, just...

    v.w.passat 1.8se 20 v petrol

We towed a 1300kg ccaravan with the 1.8 SE20v petrol, (an estate) for the last couple of years, and had no complaints. It is a beautiful car, our only problems occurred when trying to tow off really sopping wet fields. VW kerbweights, when they are quoted, are (or used to be) for a completely...

    making up the bed!

It's much easier to just roll out the sleeping bags on each side cushion and sleep in single beds - especially when you are tired. However, I would find it much easier to manouevre those huge cushions about if they had handles stitched into the seams along the back somewhere. Arthritic hands...

WHERE ARE YOU GOING FOR EASTER

We will be using a C&CC CS site nr Penrith. Our son and his family (hardy souls) will be camping there. Must admit, as a teacher, with all those lovely school holidays,(that's a joke these days, but that's another story) I tend to book up the main ones pretty quickly, otherwise we wouldn't get...
