I know that you didn’t mention Shackleton. I have read the thread. I agreed that the warnings about the amount of driving were appropriate . My point was that the extreme diversion from the OP powered by stalwarts who like to talk amongst themselves could not be justified beyond a few posts...

My point is that the warning about the amount of driving was clearly and rightly made in a couple of posts. The thread then veered into a discussion about the miles others have driven; and now we are on Shackleton. This is exactly the sort of gossipy clique discussion between long term forumites...

Here’s a thought; Perhaps instead of an “I’ve towed more miles than you” competition; someone who has driven all them miles could actually answer the OPs questions about Air quality stickers, routes and tolls. Just saying Mel

Before you spend money on new pads give the inside of the tow hitch a really good clean and spray with brake cleaner as others have suggested. Worth doing regularly as they glaze up. If still creaking then make Mr Plodd an offer. They are easy to swap over ( even we did it) Mel
