oh i wish it was 1400kg in uk,its on my company car list to replace my very good mondeo which has a max tow of 1800kg i think.i pull a elddis 505l which has a max weight of 1475kg which is way out of the vw. hope the new vectra has better pulling power thanks for that lut

the passat is a 2.0 lt 110bhp ,i was looking at at max tow and was shocked at it being 1200kg. when you look at the same car that isnt bluemotion with all the same weights and kerbweight the max pull is 1500 kg to 1800kg the car cant be that much different

i dont think you have anything to worry about if the van is loaded correctly. the car is more than a match for the van

whether you go for a 4x4 or big heavy saloon car ,it has to be right for you. both do a very good job ,i have just decided to go for a bmw 530d for my twin axle,as long as you stay within the law and safe weights of both car and caravan it doesnt matter and in the end it is your choice
