Hi, i have a mondeo 2.0 tdci 130 estate with self levelling and tow a coachman amara 580/4 twin axle. it weighs in at 1560 kgs about the same as the car. it tows no problem and gives 28-30 mpg towing. i think much more might be pushing the limits a bit.

i would look at the dvd player and water heater , not the tv. a friend of mine sat next to a bmw x5 in a motorway traffic jam for three hours and this guys kids watched dvds quite happily while they were stopped. when they wnt to move of the bmw battery was flat caused by the dvd player.

the earlier mk3 had the lower powered tddi and the tdci had a choice of 115 or 130 engines and 5 or 6 speed boxes.the 2.2 had 155 bhp and 6 speed box.

no competition tdci every time. make sure of full service history and if poss estate with self levelling suspension, ghia and above.
