Take it to JE Engineering who do a great tune for the TD6, which makes the car a lot more pleasant. If you've got the money the TDV8 3.6 is a real peach of an engine.

We went to Earls Court a couple of years ago and asked every manufactuerer if they could do a van with alde heating, 2 bunks at the rear as well as a side dinette, decent shower and toilet and an overall good quality feel. Vanmaster thought I couldn't afford it - their loss and everyone else...

We have alde heating in our van and keeps us tosty warm in the coldest of weather. Unlike blown air heating when it gets to temperature it doesn't carry on blowing cold air around the van. Also no fires to burn the kids on, just radiators like at home and even a towel rail in the bathroom.

My Heritage has bunks, Fleetwood will modify to order - at a cost, but for us they made the perfect layout and spec, short of building a 15m long caravan !!!

At the end of the day buy what you like, The E320CDI is a great car and the BMWs if you like that sort of thing. I tow a TA Fleetwood Heritage and have used 2 different Disco3's that between them have done 50K miles the second one has not seen a dealer except for service at 15Kmiles (

We had a Frontera 2.5 Transglobe it was a great car (Isuzu engine) no problems with it but it was juicy, around 20mpg. Even my Disco3 with a TA manages about 22mpg!

We got fed up with it in our Abbey, combined with the fact my son burnt himself, so we switched to a van with Alde heating, far far better IMO

I prefer autos, but not in a TD5, as has been mentioned put it in low ratio for slow manoevering

No the LR warranty is on everything for 3 years unlimited mileage
