Haven...(shudder...) Try Hendra on the outskirts of Newquay?

    Damage Barton

Try Ruda - its on the same stretch of coast as Damage Barton, and its a full on site as you mention. Full on costs too, but its right on the beach (Croyde Bay), maybe worth a look. Ooo - the caravan pitches are across the quiet road from the main site - called Croyde Burrows.

    Cheaper fuel

Oh gawd - not another one. Theres been a spate of these sites being commented on recently - tread very carefully if you are interested.

    X-Trail, CRV, or Sorento??

We're on our 2nd CRV - the new diesel one. I can only describe it as fantastic. Our previous petrol version was brill solo, but suffered slightly with a low nseweight at 60kg, and towing mpg @ 22. The diesel now has 100kg noseweight, tows at 30mpg (1300kg shed) and returns 45 solo. (Have had...

Bailey Ranger Front Panel Splitting !!

Yvonne - we used to have the same problem getting the sparein and out. We couldn't tow withe the spare in the locker - it made the noseweight way too high. We ended up buying a spare wheel carrier from Alko. Maybe its just me but by putting that weight so low down seems to have transformed the...

s'easy - Ruda / Croyde Burrows on Devons North Coast. Brill place for beach / surf scene. Site is literally on the beach. Ruda itself is mainly tenting and statics, but the have a brill toring park across the road. Check out their website.

    Parks linked to Health Spa's

Haven Holidays premier resort in Exmouth has a spa in its complex. But, it is a Haven site, (shudder) the touring field is tiny and is half way up a cliff face.

    New Year Eve.

Try Newlands on the outskirts of Charmouth - Dorset. Been there for the past 2 yrs - brill both times.

    Dehumidifier design

I'd consider one if it ran on 12v, had a timer on it and had a facility for drainage to the outside - maybe through a floor vent. We live a way away from our storage site and a 30 mile trip to drain the moisture traps .....pain... moan...etc

    Dogs ??

Hopefully, siteowners charge for dogs to discourage owners from using their sites. I cant remember the amount of times we've had to scrape foul smelling muck off our childrens clothes and shoes after pig headed owners haven't bothered to clean up after their dogs. Those that do invariably hang...

    Tow car?

Suggest one of the HONDA CIVIC range - the 1.7 diesel would be ideal. Similar size outside - massive inside.

    Caravan Outfit Matching Advice

I've been towing at 94% since the day I started caravanning (only 2 yrs ago..) Done over 5000 miles and never had a single scary moment. Depends on how you load and how you drive. 85% always assumes a fully loaded van (never been near it) and an empty car. Add 2 people to the kerbweight of the...
