Towing a caravan when car is fitted with a skinny spare wheel...

Been driving for over 10 years, and never had a problem until 2 years ago..... My company Audi must be the unluckiest car I've had, lost count of the number of wheel changes. went form not having clue how to change a wheel (well I knew the theory) to being very adept. Couple of random...

Towing a caravan when car is fitted with a skinny spare wheel...

Hmm, but as I recall if your carry a spare it has to be in roadworthy condition even if it never leaves the bootwell (can't remember if a check on the spare is part of the MOT), so technically the car is always illegal, with a space saver fitted or just sitting under the car.

Towing a caravan when car is fitted with a skinny spare wheel...

On that point if the a space saver is illegal, isn't a car supplied with such a tyre "not fit for purpose"?

    Is it really that difficult.?

I think the "If a dog comes within 400 yards of my van I shot it no questions asked" type comments, should really be filed in the "internet tough talk" file and ignored.

    sky plus box

We've just had our sky changed, because we switched to multi-room and sky plus, they put up a new dish, because the old one only had one coax out put. so currently in my kitchen I have a sky dish, complete with the receiver, and our old black sky box in the bedroom, could I actually take this...

    "lifestyle" Suspension

Weird title, but I shall explain. I'm looking at smaller towcars for my relatively light Adria, and I've been drawn by the Berlingo and Roomster. Now checking the online stuff, both are suitable for the van, but both are available in a "lifestyle" type trim, with faux 4x4 looks and slghtly...

    Myths or Facts?

Having just bought our 1st "proper" caravan (one where everything works, the roof doesn't leak etc. etc.). I was startled by some comments, from the rest of the fmaily who've been caravanning for sometime. 1> If you use the shower in the bathroom, the floor will eventally fall out, so your...

    4x4 thread

"Because they feel they have to, they perceive they are being attacked by all sides. Even the Chancellor made a remark about 4x4s, not just high emmission vehicles. It's a drive train for goodness sake." This is of course the same Chancellor who I saw a few months ago on the M4, Him and a...

    Whats happened to caravanning

Personaaly for me it's a means to and end, somewhere to sleep and end at the end of the day after I've been out and about doing what I want.

    Compass faults.......what would you do?

With respect to the wiring surely you could reject on safety grounds, you feel that as the wiring there is poorly positioned and obviously a potential danger, you have serious misgivings about the condition and siteing of the wiring you can't see. (As an aquirer of a "classic" or less politly...

Hello to all the freelander and 4x4 owners

Well I do have my '99 1.8 XEi Station Wagon, now in semi retirement with 133k on the clock, company A4 means she doesn't get the use she used to, but I'm a reasonably happy owner I guess, just need to scrimp n save and replace her with a TD4. (Don't like to be too reliant on company transport...

    Vauxhall Vectra 2.2Dti

Don't know about towing, but take one for a looong test drive, had a 2.2Dti as a hire car a year or so back, all was well for about 2 hours, then after that halfway between glasgow and edinburgh my back was in agony, I felt almost paralysed, pulled over crawled out of the car, eventally got back...

    159mph Police Officer

I was under the impression that unless a pursuit is underway, the plod cannot exceed limits under the national speed limit, i.e 50's 40's 30's, yet he was clocked doing 91 in a 30, that to me seems a lot more dangerous than the headline grabbing 159 on the dual carriageway. Would anyone else...

    Sales of 4x4s

I have to say I'm also prepared to believe that this planet and thesolar system in which it resides is still full of mysteries for us and that there may well be other factors to explain the current levels of climate change, that we cannot measure or detect. I seem to remember reading an article...

    Sales of 4x4s

Whats really fun, if what I was taught about atmosphere chemistry is true, is this..... It really doesn't matter if we stopped all processes tomorrow that produced CO2 it wouldn't halt or slow global warming, what we are seeing now is the results of 200 years of industrialisation. Banning 4x4s...
