Bailey Unicorn series 3 LED rear light problem

Had same issue when taking delivery of new Swift back in the Spring. Car is a Peugeot. Issue seems to be that ECM module on car is not able to operate with LED lighting on trailers/caravans since they take such a low voltage. Swift did supply a module but that failed to cure the problem and...

    Gas on the Move

Thanks to all for clarifying the matter. I'd hope that there was an auto shut off incorporated into the main cylinder regulator AND that other people (without Lunars) wouldn't be tempted to travel with gas heating switched on. Interesting that the recent 18 hour closure of the Mi in Northants...

    Gas on the Move

Just checked main Clubs - perhaps should have done that before posting! CC&C has turn off gas before travelling as the top of its list of thing to do re gas safety. CC website is "experiencing difficulties" so unable to check with them at present. Phil

    Gas on the Move

ChrisBee, But surely such a cut off device (if it exists) can only turn off gas to the heater/appliance. It would still leave the main cylinder valve open? Phil

    Gas on the Move

Just seen a letter in the print version of magazine saying that 2015 Lunar allows use of gas fired Alde wet heating whilst van is "on the move". How can that be so? Channel Tunnel requires gas to be turned off at cylinder. Both major Clubs advise that gas is isolated at the cylinder whilst...

Carrying cycles on top of nissan x-trail

WC, Apologies - you didn't "state" perhaps it would have been better if I had said that it was implied....? To quote: "If the overall height is still less than the caravan height (including aerial) then I think you should be OK." Phil

Carrying cycles on top of nissan x-trail

No statutory or legal restrictions as far as I am aware. Have carried bikes on top of saloon cars, then on Peugeot 4007 (their now defunct SUV/crossover vehicle) and am now back to carrying them on 508 estate car. Not sure why WC suggests that height should not exceed that of the caravan. How...

    The dangers of gas cyliders

Prof John, Its just as you describe..... whilst the escaping vapour burns that's OK but there can be worse. What is known as a BLEVE. Or in plain English a Boiling Liquid Expanding Vapour Explosion. This was the scenario at Mexico City in 1984: perhaps worst example. Phil

Isle de Re - park on the island or mainland?

Just to echo all that has been said so far. Weather can be pretty good in Septemeber - but perhaps best to aim for early rather than late in the month. I would recommend that you stay on the island - you only pay the bridge toll once! And can cycle or bus into La Rochelle if you need to...

    Security Lock Motor Mover

Given that we all worry about tyres being permanantly deformed through being left standing over winter I'd have thought having the motor mover roller permanantly engaged would have caused as much if not more damage. No proof/evidence or supplier's instructions - just common sense. Phil

    Ladder or platform for cleaning

I have been watching this post with interst - I work in insurance. The commercial sort where employers are insured as regards acciedents involving employees. The most common types of accident is a fall from height - and these are guys who do this sort of thing for a living - but perhaps they...

Keeping a tow car on the road for 6 months and SORN for 6 months

As regards insurance you will not need liability insurance when the car is off the road. That is the insurance that covers you if you have an accident and were to injure another road user and be sued for damages/compensation. But a laid up vehicle could still suffer from fire or theft - would...

Looking at Mitsubishi Outlander as towcar anyone got any ifo they can help with?

Wendy, Do you see Practical Caravan... the magazine? Article on a snowy trip to Wiltshire in Feb of this year when the van had to pulled off a snowy site by one of the test fleet - the 4007. Vidoe clip on youtube - put in something like "pulling van of snowy site". Seemed to manage quite...

Looking at Mitsubishi Outlander as towcar anyone got any ifo they can help with?

Wendy, Traded up from a Pug 407 with 2.2lt diesel to 4007 - same engine but with lower power/higher torque. Can not fault it after a couple of years of use. Tows really well, is comfortable and easy to drive and economy is pretty good considering it looks like a brick..! Haven't experienced...

    peugeot 4007

I used to tow with a Pug 406 with 2.2lt diesel. Worked a dream with van. Switched to 4007 12 months back and can say it is really good. Outlander was (to start) only being offered with old VW 2lt although I believe it now comes with 2.2lt - but whose I do not know. We should always remember...
