Swift Challenger 2013 Damp around Window, Whats best to do?

You are of course at liberty to decline to use your statutory rights which are automatically created when ever you make a retail purchase in the UK. But for information and in case anyone else is in a similar situation. Retail goods purchased within the UK and that are not being...

Swift Challenger 2013 Damp around Window, Whats best to do?

As the caravan was purchased from a a UK based seller, and I assume exported by the customer and not the dealer, The UK CRA will apply as it relates to the contract of sale. However it is clearly a far more difficult situation becasue the caravan is no longer within the UK, and...

    Motorhome Alarm Installation

If you believe the work is not of satisfactory, or of merchantable quality then you may have a legitimate reason to not accept the work carried out under your statutory consumer rights. Read up about your rights under the Consumer Rights Act. and how to challenge what you consider...

Swift Challenger 2013 Damp around Window, Whats best to do?

If as Gary B suggests it was the wrong sealant, then it's the sealant might be the only thing that needs replacing, but it all depends what damage might have been caused thats not visible. Unfortunately, becasue the caravan manufacturers have tended to use vinyl covered wall...

    Truma Ultrastore Heater element

Its unusual for an electric element to fail and the gas to stop working at the same time. The systems are separately controlled, so that points to a more serious failure, and changing a tank to facilitates the electric element is unlikely to fix the gas as well. The heater is at...

Swift Challenger 2013 Damp around Window, Whats best to do?

Hello Nksky Welcome to the forum. I'm sorry to read of your problems. I can understand your suspicion the window is responsible for the raised readings, but without being able to see and test the area its simply not possible for anyone on a forum to know exactly what has failed. Someone...

    Bike racks for caravans

Which is why I wrote "Most UK" If you were to do the research I sure more than 50% ( id guess actually more than 90% ) of UK caravans would not have enough space for an A frame mounted bike rack. Virtually all UK caravans use short A frames. I cannot comment regarding vans made for...

Crack in body shell - what should I do?

The use of Captain Tolley's does not produce a very strong bond, so if there is any movement in the crack when the caravan is moved, the filler will lose integrity. If there is no movement then Tolly's should seal the crack.

    Electricity usage

You plan seems doable, but whilst the motor mover does need quite a lot of current to make it work, it's used for such short periods that the drain on the battery capacity is much less than you imagine, In other threads I have done quick calculations about how much battery...

    Truma Ultrastore Heater element

Unfortunately, its not just the number of wires but the mounting plate may well be different, so sadly you do need to find a direct replacement element. However apart from the cost of the gas, its very nearly as efficient to use gas to heat the water, especially if you...

    Aquaroll

It is sometimes quite noticeable how much the taste of water from different sources can be. I regularly visit friends only 4 miles away, but their water always has more of a chlorine taste than ours at home. They get their water from a different water company. Consequently when...

Does anyone know where the habitation relay is on an Elddis Avante 2006?

I'm sorry I cant tell you exactly where it is, but it certainly is not part of the fridge unless the caravan manufacturer has put it in the same area.

    Bike racks for caravans

Most UK caravans do not have the room to fit an A frame bike rack.

    Aquaroll

When ever you buy new crockery or other kitchen utensils, the manufacturer invariably suggests wash or rinse the item before use. Generally that enough to remove any dust or manufacturing chemicals. But there is nothing wrong with sterilising from new. It is advisable to...

    European Vs UK caravans.

I'm sorry but some certainly used to I was ona CC site back the the 80's and two continental caravans arrived and parked up the wrong way, they were stopped in mid siting and told quite bruskly to turn them round. You are correct there is no statutory regulation about it apart...
