    Cornwall 2011

As you will know having been there before - Treamble Valley isn't actaully near Newquay really it's very near Perranporth which is far nicer than Newquay anyway. Newquay doesn't hide what it is, it's very busy seaside resort, no different from memory to Torquay or maybe St Ives. Newquay has no...

    Driving in France

We have just come back from France (Brittany). The fuel was between 1.42 and 1.52 euros per litre. Cheapest at Euromarche, Le Clerc etc. Most of the big supermarket pumps were ok to get into not great, but out of opening times for the store and especially on Sundays, getting into the 24/7 card...

    what your view on this.

In response to questions asked in the previous posts. Site Caravan Club, repair to be undertaken replace bearings on motor mover (a 10 minute job). Without a mover the van wouldn't be going anywhere. And I know you could say people would help us move it by hand but then its a big van over 24...

    what your view on this.

Last July we were staying at club site I'm not going to specify which club for fear of being 'moderated' (sounds painful). Anyway 4 days before a three week holiday our van was booked to have a repair, (we had known about the fault for a few weeks but there was a wait for parts). It was duly...

running a laptop (to watch tv) from an inverter

Charging the laptop from the car seems a good idea - we might then get an hours worth a day if the laptop battery is fully charged - also a solar panel is worth a look. It's not that we don't want electric but we'd like to try some different locations if they have electric that's fine. The site...

running a laptop (to watch tv) from an inverter

Given that cls are becoming more popular as we try to find that but more peace and quiet - we would like to try sites with no hook up and wondered how long an 85ah battery would last running a 150w inverter - the laptop charger needs 65w. Would it cope with maybe an hour a day over a 7 day...

    Loee c.c site

We were there at easter - and a bit breezy it was too - no it hasn't had its shower blocks refurbished yet when we were there but then they are still better than some we have been to, but then CC sites usually are good for facilities.

    Geist AK565

Hoping to get up to Lincoln to see one of these vans during our summer holidays - otherwise it's a 600 mile round trip. It's great shame they don't bring vans to the shows otherwise we would havw seen one sooner. Looks a nice van from the internet.

Volkswagon Passat Estate 140bhp against 170bhp

we currently tow a 1420 mptlm van with 140 passat estate. great car but imho avoid the sport - no cruise control - 140 is plenty and the auto hold is brilliant in traffic, get one with the auto hold buttton next to the gear lever if you go for a manual, no real experience of dsg only driven one...

    Geist AK565

Still weighing up whether we fly up to Lincoln to see these - does the Aktiv have a grill or an oven? It's not clear from the brochure or the pictures - we have emailed the dealer - I gather Geist don't attend the shows. Have to be sure before we travel 400 miles. Maybe we'll see one over the...

    Geist AK565

From what i can see it's only about 40 kgs heavier than our current s6 provence and about the same weight as a S7 although that's without any additions but i would imagine alloy wheels and a spare wheel wouldn't add much. They don't mention the weights of these

    Geist AK565

Considering replacing a pageant provence with a Geist AK565 - a few questions - are these vans easy to insure being german, do they hold their value, any issues that people have with them are their quirks as they are a foreign van.

Serious Damp in the new Bailey Pageant 7 Limousin

Have you been ventilating the van during the winter? We have large skylight on vent and all the front windows plus shower room and one window at the back on vent. We open the cupboards and take out the contents so air can circulate. Have you got heat on? Turn it off. Our bailey gets signs of...
