Overnight for caravan near Portsmouth Dock

Hi-If you're going through Santander route, don't fill up in UK-run it down as far as you can. There are loads of filling stations on the road out of Santander towards the motorway and the fuel is far far cheaper than in the UK. In December it was €1.19 a litre for diesel Mike

    The end of an era.

We've done exactly the same this month after 40years of caravanning. Good luck in the future direction Mike & Jackie

    End of an Era

Well after 40+ years of touring, time has come & we have decided with age, arthritis, Covid & Brexit our caravanning days are over now. After spending the last 10 winters in Spain and having some wonderful holidays, this years was more an endurance than a holiday! 3 months seemed like a lifetime...

Overnight for caravan near Portsmouth Dock

You can stay overnight free of charge on Port Solent. It is about 10 minutes from the terminal, or you can park on the BF car park after about 8.30pm. Once you get into Santander, it is 3 hrs to Haro, 3.5 to Navarette or about 4.5 to Zaragoza all motorway. Bear in mind though you are going...

    Heading to Spain

It is true that 'converters' are not compulsory. However, Headlights must dip to the right in Europe & that is compulsory. Consequently unless you have headlights which will alter the dip direction, you do need converters. As for only driving at night, that isn't a valid reason as it is also...

    Heading to Spain

Hi I wasn't trying to get away with anything. On the contrary I was emphasising that you are no longer allowed to take Dairy or meat products into Spain or any EU country for that matter. I was simply asking if anyone had experience of the Border Force in Spain physically coming on and checking...

Slight problem is, can't find out if the 48hr health test is for getting on the boat (ie 10pm 9th Sept) or arriving in Spain (8am 11th September) Cuts it a bit fine for us as 48hrs previous is about the time we...

    VOSA Roadside Checks

If it's loaded properly & you have the right license, what have you got to worry about? If your tyres/caravan/ loading/driving is not up to standard you shouldn't be on the road anyway. Apart from the delay, I don't have any issues with this-in fact I would welcome it, in the name of safety! Mike

I've got Pirelli on mine-hug the road and very quiet. Usually buy via Black Circles as always found them best price & get them fit locally without a problem

If we have to quarentine, won't it be in the van? Maybe Portsmouth docks will open a temporary site! Surely by Christmas it will be sorted-Boris said end of restrictions 21st June! (Fingers Crossed!)

    kia sorento automatic

Hi Blue Rocket. I have a Kia Sorento KX-3 auto and pull a Coachman Pastiche with it which is one of the heaviest caravans on the market on 2 wheels. I have never had a problem with towing, it goes like a dream with no effort. Never feel the van is pushing when breaking or downhill etc either...
