    Permanent Caravanning.

Well I thought that too Surfer. The only thing is the insurance companies always ask where the caravan is stored and in the event of theft, surely the inusrance company will contact the land owner and they would say that it has been lived in permanantly.....or am I bringing too much into this?

    Permanent Caravanning.

Hi all, Can you advise me on where I can get to get insurance cover for the caravan when living in it permanantly. I'm going to be homeless in a few months as my parents are moving and I'm looking to live in my touring caravan for a year or so as a temporary measure. The trouble is nobody...

Changing caravan electrics to single 13 pin plug

I retro fitted a 13 pin to my 2005 Lunar Clubman and I never looked back! Those adapters are nasty, messy and just add extra points to play up. It is well worth the hassle of fitting it despite the fact people (the workshop lot) saying you couldn't!! Now I have 13 pin on my Elddis and continue...

    Kojack Lite

Oh dear! I've not long purchased one! Oh well at least I got it at a rock bottom price. BPW are still telling people to buy them though as I did! I must say the thought of the leaking seals did go through my mind before I purchased it but seeing as I just sold my Alko sissor jack (thinking it...

    New entry-level range from Lunar

Great to see! I like the look of them. The only concern I have is that Lunar have lost their way a bit. They aren't much lighter (if at all)than many of their other competitors. Take for example the Elddis Xplore 302, 304 and 452's....they are all lighter than the Lunar equivilent, better...

    4X4 or car to tow

Its funny really becuase nobody has mentioned at the competence of the driver! I used to tow the Clubman I have now with my Alfa 147 and one day I turned up to Thruxton racing circuit camping field and the ground was waterlogged - big time! I towed the van across the field and spotted a number...

HEAVY TOW CAR - Second attempt!!

How about an Alfa 159 3.2 V6 JTS Q4 (4 wheel drive) Sportwagon (Estate). 1800+ kg's kerbweight, 1700kg's max tow weight and a car that looks better than anything else out there....not that I'm biased of course! Oh and if anyone comes back with comments on reliability concerns.......get with the...

Touring the Western Isles in 2012 - Anchorage device???

Thanks Roger! I have done a lot of research on the Outer Hebredes over the years and I regularly visit the upper reaches of Scotland once or twice a year so I'm not totally green to the idea of going up there:). I've island discovered (and hoped) vertually all of the islands in Scotland now...

Touring the Western Isles in 2012 - Anchorage device???

Hi folks, Can anyone tell me please if they have or know of a special anchorage device that can be used onsite to battle against high winds? I will be off to the Western Isles in Scotland next year and according to the back of the caravan club Handbook, it says that a anchorage device should...

Caravan Club tow car of the year

Well there you go - if someone thinks that Alfa's are STILL rubbish after all these years then it's no wonder they have such narrow minded opinions about the TCOTY winners! I would bang on about how reliable and well made my 147 was that I owned from new for 8 years (and 120k miles) but I'd be...

Caravan Club tow car of the year

What I find funny is at how people always snuff these awards whenever a small car wins. Towcar of the Year awards means the best towcar OVERALL with all things considered. Its not about which car can pull the heaviest load. Off roader towers always seem to get very offended by Golf's etc winning...

Trip to F1 Spa GP in Belgium

OK thanks again guys! The only thing is I'm now a bit perplexed! Steve says the 68mph is the maximum for dual carrigeways and 81mph maximum for motorways. Lutz says 68mph max for motorways in the wet and 81mph max for motorways in the dry - whos right? lol

Trip to F1 Spa GP in Belgium

Hello again! Just over 2 weeks to go now until my first time abroad! Just one other quick question the website here: http://www.euroadlegal.co.uk/country/belgium.html states that the speed limit is 68-81 mph in France. I also notice that the speed limits on the continent for towing are the same...

Trip to F1 Spa GP in Belgium

Wow! Thanks for such a detailed guide Woody! Very comprehensive indeed. Sounds like I really do have my work cut out. I have heard mixed reports about driving abroad, some say its good, some say its terrifying and dangerous! I'm going on my own with a caravan in tow on the wrong side of the road...
