    Used EVs

I would think less noise would suit shy wildlife? They'd be able to hear their surroundings much better, and of course they use eyesight / scent to warn themselves of any dangers. I doubt someone could creep up on a herd of deer in an EV. Just an idea, I might be wrong

This demonstrates why campsites want to meter electricity

This might be an unpopular opinion on here, but I'm very much against metered electricity on a campsite. This year we have 8 trips booked in the UK all on sites where the electricity is included in the pitch fee. We have avoided sites with meters, in fact have never stayed on a site with pitch...

    Smart watches - Why?

I'm on my second one and love it I can pay for things with it, check notifications without getting my phone out, listen to Spotify or BBC Sounds etc. One of the biggest advantages for me is not needing to take my phone out with me ( esp in the summer when wearing shorts)... I can make / receive...

EMOVE Motor Mover stopped work, but works perfectly again (apparently)

Some 12v systems with solar are not designed to be run without a battery. Check with your owners handbook first.

EMOVE Motor Mover stopped work, but works perfectly again (apparently)

I think you're on the right track. Disregard the 14.2v as it's being charged by the solar panel. To get any idea of the health of the battery you need to disconnect it, leave for a few hours and then test the voltage My guess would be the battery is on the way out, esp as the dealer has given...

    Oh dear!!

A couple of weeks ago coming back from mid-Wales up the A49 north of Leominster I turned right onto the A456 (near Ludlow) to be welcomed by a "road ahead closed" sign. Hoping the closure was after my turning off I continued (I had no choice) but after a couple of miles it happened "road...

    Remodelling a static?

I've never owned a static but have spoken to a few owners over the years. The most important thing to scrutinize is the pitch agreement. Take your time reading thru and absorbing it, it could save you heartache in the future. At the end of the agreement (15 years?) the site owners can ask you to...

    An oldie still holding.

Living your best life, good for you! Your history is not that dissimilar to mine, albeit it quite a bit longer. Packed the motorbikes in as I suffered "repetitive broken legs syndrome".

Portable A/c for 16ft Bailey Pageant

For a 16ft caravan I would say the "Cool my Camper" is the best option (if they're available in Aus)

Portable A/c for 16ft Bailey Pageant

It does, it makes a big difference potentially. The distance from the axle to the roof top AC unit would have a lever effect probably of approx 8x. If a sway initiated there could be 8 x 32kg extra effective weight (256kg) swinging from side to side. The same weight loaded centrally over the...

Portable A/c for 16ft Bailey Pageant

It will have a pendulum effect, albeit upside down. Not good

Portable A/c for 16ft Bailey Pageant

I looked into AC for our caravan this year. I found 3 options... Roof top installation - they are expensive and difficult to justify the cost here in the UK. I also didn't like the idea of losing a roof light. It's also a lot of permanent weight high up, not good for stability. Approx £1800...

    Is 20 plenty?

I'm not sure the mpg is a worthy argument, it's clutching at straws. Held at a constant speed fuel consumption should be improved at 20 versus 30. Good fuel consumption can be achieved at 20mph, ave 90 mpg is achievable. Most energy is used accelerating, so accelerating up to 30 after slowing...
