Field end water caravan park Doddington Cambridgeshire

Ah yes the picture on their website is of the smaller pool I was referring to at the top and within the site. Many thanks.

Field end water caravan park Doddington Cambridgeshire

From memory the lake is rectangular and not wonderfully attractive. It has it's own car park and is open to non residents. I also have a vague memory of a smaller pool at the top of the site, could be wrong though. Have a good time when you go. There's another site just a handful of miles away...

Field end water caravan park Doddington Cambridgeshire

I was there a few years ago in summer. Weather was roasting at ~32C. Many go just for the fishing, there's a large lake just outside the site. There's also a separate CL adjacent. We had a stunning tropical rainstorm while there that flooded our awning with biblical quantities of rain. Had to...

Whale Watermaster Mains hose - clean or sterilise?

Get a short length of 40mm or 50mm white waste pipe to suit the pump dia and cut to suit the height or dia of your water hog. Cut or file a little cutaway at one end so it doesn't seal to the bottom. Then just feed the filter/pump into the pipe and push to the bottom. It can't curl then. As an...

    Alde Heating-Pro's & Cons

While stratification still occurs, better insulation should mean the temperature gradient from floor to ceiling is less. In fact if the insulation was impossibly perfect there would be little to no gradient as micro air currents from habitation would cause excellent mixing. Assuming human...

Fablon to cover dented worktops in van

Fablon will be horrible on a work area. We had a ding on the side dinette table a few years ago that was about 6-8mm deep and ran about 25mm or so. I bought a worktop repair kit that consisted of a two part white polyester filler compound with a selection of colouring additives. I experimented...

    Alde Heating-Pro's & Cons

We've just got our first van with Alde heating, it was always blown air in the past. I have to say I'm quite impressed although it played no part in our decision. I haven't noticed any stratification in temperature despite -5 deg overnight. No doubt there is some but it isn't noticeable. I think...

    Stands for aquaroll water containers

I use a stand as well. Another benefit is that it doesn't kill the grass and keeps the aquaroll clean from mud and slugs. The stand hardly takes any room since things fit around and in it.

    Honda

The Sorento is a good tow car. I had a KX2 for a few years and it behaved well, I would be happy to have one again. Mine was a 2010 so I don't know what may have changed in that time. It's not a luxury car, a little agricultural and the cabin feel slightly clunky. Newer ones have had a big price...

    Wheel arch draught excluder

We've done like the OP for many years but have just changed our van to a Bailey U3. I rang Isabella to ask for a wider arch cover for a twin axle and was asked which van it was for. They sent one by return FOC but I was puzzled when I got it as there were no eyelets or studs and it was shaped...

    Replacement Rechargable Carbon Filters

Usual problem is plugging into the caravan before submerging the filter. This traps air in the filter so it tries to float. Dangle the filter/housing in the water first and swish it up and down a bit. Then plug into the caravan. Other ideas I've seen to force the filter upright is to slide a...

    Replacement Rechargable Carbon Filters

Sorry, I know it's annoying when people don't answer the question! But when the frequent replacement costs became silly I stopped using them. I removed the contents of an old filter and put a few glass marbles in their place for weight before refitting the base. There was already a metal gauze...

    Recommend a caravan alarm

I suppose the obvious answer is a Sargent Stinger 300. This is pretty similar to the 210 that used to be fitted to many caravans at manufacture. The design changed a little and uses a secondary beeper to indicate dis/arming whereas previously it used the main siren. So it's a little harder to...
