    wild rose

We went to Wild Rose on our very first experience of caravanning that weekend. My husband/daughter's thoroughly enjoyed the fireworks (unfortunately, I had to watch from the window due to 'unforseen circumstances' with our door lock!). We then booked on there for the winter season, again...

    Back Issue Practical Caravan

Firstly, thanks Harry for sending me a copy of the page. It was very much appreciated. Next, Chrissie, you're right, we are very happy with the van. I was just hoping that we may have been able to get some info on any faults to look out for from experienced owners (better safe than sorry!)...

    Back Issue - Nov 2000?

I don't i'm afraid. However, the following lists a 2001 500/5 in the April 2004 issue: http://www.practicalcaravan.com/pcvmag/marketuse.html I don't have it myself but maybe the magazine have a back issue still available? Hope this helps.

    Devon Sites

I have to agree with Colin saying the brochure doesn't do it justice, my 13 and 7 year old girls adore this site and, although we only go for 1-2wks a year, have made some firm friends that they arrange to meet when we're due down there. The site was even on Sky TV! Lovely heated outdoor pool...

    Back Issue Practical Caravan

We are trying to get any write-ups on our fairly recently purchased ABI Dalesman 450CT of which we are only able to find any reference to it on this web-site (Practical Caravan Oct'03 Used Vans). Does anyone by any chance still have this copy in their collection that I could purchase from them...

    vectra 2.2 sri

We have the Vectra 2.2 LS and it pulls our ABI Dalesman with ease. Assuming your kerbweight is the same as ours (1460), it will eat the 1100kg for breakfast as it's way below the 85% ruling of 1241kg. Our only problem was that we had to get a special tow bar due to the shape of the bumper...

A38 - What's it like in the summer

Have done many years of end Jul/beg Aug from Manchester to Devon/Cornwall. Our experience is we leave home around 3am but no later than 4am on a Sat or go during the week (ie..Tue/Wed). We always start our return journey at about 5pm Friday. Never had a problem yet (cross fingers!), long but...

    pneumatic jockey wheel

I once saw someone using a rubber car mat under a carwheel when it was bogged down - although i've not had to try it myself, maybe this would work on a jockey wheel?

    winter caravanning

We've just bought our very first van (6yr old) and were determined to use it so have sited it for the winter (brave, I know!). We have already had a few lovely weekends with very many more planned. We do keep the thermostat on low at all times and have bought a hot water cylinder jacket and...

    Electric hook-up

Whenever I use my kettle or toaster, I have to ensure that the portable television (which apparently uses 8+ amps!) is switched off otherwise it trips the electric (bit of a pain on a rainy morning when trying to keep the kids quiet while making breakfast!). Also, if you use blow air heating...

    nose weight

We were completely knew to caravanning but were told off many experienced 'vanners not to rely on wood/scales due to the inaccuracy. We therefore purchased a fully calibrated nose gauge, although we had to order as no-one had any in stock. Hope this helps.

    Speed Cameras

Is all I can say is - YOU'RE AN ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN!! Let's hope you don't kill or severely injure an innocent party! You ought to be ashamed of yourself.
