Amberley Fields CC site any good?

Stayed there a few years ago and the proximity to Gatwick is not a problem and the planes tend not to fly in the night. Very pleasant and typical Caravan Club standard. We enjoyed our week there.

    fleetwood heratage 640i

Hi Mark, Have had two Heritages both of them the 640ES model. The earlier 2004 model did have a timer on the Alde system heating but the later 2008 model does not have the complicated timer control. If I remember right the 640i will probably have the later system so don't worry about the...

    campsite perpignan

I'd go along with Scotch Lad. Have stayed at Ma Prairie several times. Nice and close to Canet Plage and all the lovely beaches and ports up towards Narbonne and down towards Spain. Ah roll on the summer and the September trip to Frnace again. Ian

    Campsite near or in Avignon

Another one for consideration would be Ile des Papes. We used Touring Cheques there last September, but I believe they are also an ACSI site. Site is large and clean, nice pool and restaurant. There are pitches overlooking the Rhone which are quite pleasant. The site is about five miles...

Grondre holiday park- Nr Narbeth Pembrokeshire (Vale holiday ...

Took my caravan there for my son and family to use 18 months ago. I agree with Anthony lots of sited tourers which have the best pitches and these are not cared for, with grass all around and many awnings blown down. I had to pitch on a slope and because I have a large twin axle I had to...

Touring Cheques - Torre del Sol, Cambrils, Spain

Have just checked TC's website and true to their word they have amended the entries. Well done.

Touring Cheques - Torre del Sol, Cambrils, Spain

Whilst I have no experience of this particular site, I have noticed that there are a few sites in France which are listed on the Touring Cheques website which no longer accept them e.g. La Citadelle in Loches. I raised this with them and they suggested that the book was up to date and please...

    Bulkhead gas regulators

Another option is to stay with the original regulator and change the pigtail to the stainless steel Gaslow one. You can get these for butane and propane. They are more expensive but after five or more failures I invested 18 months ago and have had no problems since. Ian

    Overnight campsite around Caen?

Have stayed here many times but found this year that they no longer accept Camping Cheques or Select Sites vouchers. Cannot comment on their one nighter policy now, but paying directly for one night was very expensive in the past, hence the desire to use cheques!! Ian

What do people pay for Crossing the Channel with a Caravan

As others have said there are many crossings and cheapest and most convenient are the two main considerations. In our case coming from the West, Portsmouth is convenient and we have travelled to Caen for the last few years. In Sept 2008 we crossed on an afternoon ferry and back on a morning...

    CARCASSONNE???

There is site right next to the "Cite", though I don't recall the name. Spoke to someone in France who had stayed on it this Sept. Im sure someone will know the name. There is a site just outside Carcasonne which has great views called something like Domaine d'Arnetuille. Ian

Whale Aquasmart water inlet getting tight...

Had the same problem with mine on my last van, which oddly enough was a Fleetwood, though I don't think the problem can be laid at their door. It was very much from the time I bought it but got progressively worse. Despite lubrication it never eased and eventually I cut a short strip of that...

    Twin Axle Motor Mover Advice

Hi Chris. I, like John had a Powrtouch mover fitted to my Fleetwood Heritage this year which only operated on two wheels. The van is very heavy and even on a slight incline the mover didn't want to turn the van. On advice from a Powrtouch fitter I upgraded to the 4 wheel drive model and it...

Sky dish & wind, advice Please!

Gareth, You will need to alter the elevation if you take it abroad, especially as you go further south. I have also altered it in GB as well as you go further north. However this is lees critical in this country. It does make a difference even if only marginal. As many others have suggested...

    Fleetwood Heritage 640

Rob, To answer your comment my dealer and Richard Allen from Fleetwood said the same. However, having had caravans from a variety of manufacturers over the last thirty years I have never experienced the deluge of water that I have in the last two Heritages! I have learned to live with it but...
