It is very sad indeed that you can not pull into a service area and go to the toilet/shop/cafe without having to leave someone to guard your caravan, even when fitted with a hitch lock/wheel clamp etc. It may be sensible to leave someone but in a sad way it is letting the criminal win.

I would say the Caravan Club. Was recently at a Caravan Club rally that was held at the same venue as a Caravan & Camping Club Rally. The C&CC held a Sunday Church service! Far too stuffy for my liking.

I don't know about long and short towbars, but avoid detachable. Just think about the safety issue, you would be towing over a 1000kg with something that you have to bolt on. Recipe for disaster. Twin electrics are needed to allow you car to charge the caravans battery and run its fridge...
