I wasn’t impressed at all with my Tiguan 190ps diesel Awd towing 1650kg, I’ve driven a 190ps GLB since and that car had much more pulling power.

It was cheaper to buy the hybrid with 230 ps than replace my Tiguan 190ps diesel.

It’s not DSG type auto that is used with the ice only version and it’s 7 speed. Hybrid (hev) and plug in hybrid ( phev) uses a 6 speed AT. If can get confusing.

It’s a automatic with no TC as the electric motor does that job.

I would never buy a diesel again now I have a hybrid with a conventional type automatic and AWD, I tow 1650kg with my sportage. A much better car than my 190ps diesel AWD Dsg tiguan.

There is no lock on the AWD hybrid, it's permanently in AWD with five percent to the front axle at all times. Weight wise my 190pps Tiguan AWD DSG was 1755kg with a spare space saver, and factory fit towbar. GTS Sportage hybrid 230ps AWD automatic is 1715kg with no spare or towbar.

I have a AWD Sportage hybrid 230ps, I tested a FWD and even solo on wet roads it was difficult not to get wheel spin.

Depends where you want to go, a few sites we used were accessed via narrow lanes much more suitable for camping or motorhomes, IMO.

Yes but cleaned differently to a DPF. A PPF requires high revs followed by lifting off, repeatability.

No problem with my Sportage with dealer fitted towbar.

These ice only engines are prone to the PPF being blocked. I would advise buying the hybrid which had 230ps until MY24. Later models have a power reduction and lower towing limit of 1500kg. It's a great tow car with 350nm from 1500rpm to 4500rpm.

I've towed 1700kg with a Mazda cx5 175ps AWD diesel automatic and, a 190ps Tiguan automatic AWD , and now a 2022 Kia Sportage 230ps hybrid.
