Hi

Just had new 240v element fitted and had fridge checked out,12v-240v and gas, everything ok until hooking up, fridge light switch comes on intermitently, at a regular pulse, could this be a fault on the car or van, new towbar and electrics fitted Sept

Help please

sounds like the voltage sensing relay in the car wants adjusting, or a poor connection.

Ask the towbar fitter to check at the 12s socket/ 13pin.

Agree with Ray.

Sounds like the car tow electric relay for the fridge needs adjusted. Should have been set up by towbar fitter. Normally switch point is set to around 13.6 volts, so only puts power to fridge when engine running.

Do you have 13 pin socket? I have had problem on my Audi with factory fitted!!! (2nd mortgage job) towbar & electrics and pins 10 & 11, the fridge supply are not connected, did not find this out until changed van with new fridge that has digital display telling me no 12v power source.

Just don't understand how these car people think, they sell cars with various limits/loads/ technical data etc on towing and offer tow bars/electrics but do not appear to understand what is required. It would be bad enough if I had taken it to the 'two bob tow bar man' but Audi Vorsprung Durch Technik for heavens sake.

My Audi dealers are trying to sort it out.
