We have stayed at this site at least twice - once in August and then, last year, in June. Pitches are spacious and shady. The site looks out across the river to Trebes, which is within easy walking distance. The site is run by a most delightful and friendly family, who are very hands on. It is a very popular site and you should get there either early in the day or book ahead to be assured of a pitch. Having said that, there is quite a lot of movement, so late arrivals are often placed at the edge of the playing field and moved to a pitch as soon as one is available. This is particularly the case during the ASCI discount period. We did notice a significant dropping off as the discount period came to an end. Trebes has a SuperU supermarket on the outskirts which is within walking distance; a municipal swimming pool adjacent to the site which has free access to campers (hours may be restricted in June due to school use); a market once a week and the occasional large grenier vide (car boot sale). Trebes is an ideal location for exploring the region, with Carcassonne only a short distance down the road and the villages of the Minervois and Corbieres close by. The coast is within easy reach, as are Narbonne and Beziers. The Canal du Midi runs through the town and there is a pretty little port lined with restaurants and you can walk along the canal path to the locks and watch the trippers boats going through. As you can see, it is one of our favourite places in the region and we would return to the campsite again and again.
