Hi All I am off to St. Austell Area Next Weekend and wonder if anyone can advise me if there are any service stations along the A30.
suitable for stopping for a break say 45 minutes.
After leaving home we intend having a stop at Strenshall services on the M 5. then our second stop perhaps just after leaving the M5, hopefully within 20 miles of leaving the motorway.
We could use the motorway service area at Exeter but I would like to get a mile or two along the A30 if possible.
I presume there will be plenty of filling stations but perhaps none that have facilities for a longer stop in the way that motorway services have.
best regards Brian

hi Brian,
when we are going down to St Austell, we stop off at Roadford reservoir just off the A30. "well signposted" after Oakhamton it's about 32miles from the M5, so probably about 45mins, there is ample parking for a unit, and a very good Cafe, although no petrol station but as you say there are plenty of those, look here http://motorwayservicesonline.co.uk/A30 although not as many as you would think on a major trunk road,

.
Sourton Cross is the better option as there is plenty of room for Caravans.
