I am completely new to caravanning, but have taken the plunge and bougth the above caravan. I have plugged in the hook up lead and assumed it would automatically charge the battery. Can anyone tell me if there is a switch or procedure to charge up the battery please?

Regards Robbie

Hi Craig. I don’t ‘know, as I cannot seem to find out how to switch it to battery power. If I remove the hook up lead I don’t have power. I have put a meter on the battery terminals and it seems fine. That’s why I’m thinking there must be a switch somewhere to charge the battery.

It might be Dave, but as my original post said I don’t know how to get the ven to run on battery power. Once i remove the hook up lead I can’t turn on the lights, microwave etc. I’m thinking there must be a switch to run everything off the battery

Is there no 12 volt switch above the door. Check to see if your 12v system works when car plugged in, maybe your habitation relay is faulty, not switching back to van when car unplugged.

I’ll have a look in the morning. The van hasn’t been serviced for two years so it might be wise to get a service done, so I can get all systems checked out. Thanks. I’ll let you know if I find the 12v switch.

Give the symbol bottom left hand corner of the control panel a good firm push. The one with the battery floating above the caravan.

Why not give the guy that you bought it from a ring? If he’s owned it he would know where any switches are and how to power it up.

Good result. There's something to be said about giving something "a good firm push"
Enjoy your van.

Isn't it nice when , when someone gets advice, and it works , without The Forum , ending up in a long winded debate about Nose weights or MTPL's.
:)
