Ace Award Nightstar 2008 Control Panel Please Please Help

Hi All,

I am having a problem with my control panel which is locaed above the door, it will switch on but will do nothing else I cant activate the water pump or lights and cant check the status of my leisure battery, I have checked the battery by hand and it is fully charged and the fridge is working fine on hook-up but I am unable to switch the water pump on, have any of you come across this before I am very new to caravaning and don't want to phone the dealer up only to be told I have missed something very easy. I have even unplugged the hock up to try and reset the paenl but with no joy all main fuses seem fine and have even tripped them out with test button. Any help or advice before I phone the dealer would be a massive help.

Ian,

Give your dealer a ring, could save you alot of messing about. Someone from the workshop side should be able to talk you through certain checks.

Hi Ian

I'm not sure if your Ace has the same touch pad electronic panel as our Abbey but here goes.

After connecting the ehu lead I turn on the battery charger switch on the front of the main electric 'box' which is under the seat. This is one of three switches, the others are marked 'space heater' and 'water heater' if I remember rightly.

Then on the electronic touch panel press on the caravan symbol and the caravan should power up. Be sure to press the symbol hard enough to operate it.

Connect the water etc and and press the tap symbol on the control panel. Open the taps first on cold to get the water flowing and any air from the system and then on hot to make sure that the water heater fills and the element is underwater.

When all is working with all taps turn on the water heater switch on the box under the seat.

Hi All,

Yes it is the touch pad type, the panel does switch on but neither the water pump or internal lights can be operatred from here anymore, the pad has been working fine for the last four months but now seems to have given up the ghost, mine is the same as yours there are two switches in a locker which operate the water heater and space heater but I have neve used the water heater and rarley use the space heater. I have rang the dealer this morning but he said he would get someone to call me tomorrow. Can't think of anything else I can do just thought someone may have had the same issue's, please keep your thoughts and experiance's coming.

Hi Ian,

We have an '07 Ace Firestar, the fuses and electric panel with switches for battery charger, space heater, water heater are inside the wardrobe, and all illuminate orange when on. There is also a black switch on the panel which has 'van' and 'car' positions. I think the position you need is 'car', but it is switched down from the central off position. Without putting the black switch to either van or car, the panel above the door will not work.

Ian , I have the Ace Supreme now do you have a remote control for your van.

If so it is possible you have turned off your 12volt side , check on the black remote and press the one with light symbol on it
