I am looking to start caravaning with the family (wife, 2 boys) and have had a look at a new 2004 model adria 461DB, which falls nicely into my price range (less than £8000) and weight range (less than 1200kg) for the car. I was just wondering if anyone had any comments/reviews/recommendations on the above, or ideas for an alternative (new or used).

We nearly bought an Adria last year for much the same reason as you- cost and low weight- although there is just us two. In the end though we went for a 9 month old Bailey Ranger 470/4 that hadn't even been used!- just thought it was better finshed and we will keep it longer than we would have the Adria- lovely bathroom, full oven etc.

Adria is the 6th largest manufacturer of caravans and motor caravans on the Continent in terms of turnover. Not bad for a single brand at the lower end of the price range (all larger companies are groups of several manufacturers). The buyers of over 13000 units sold last year can't all have made a big mistake.
