After having travelled to Canada and seeing these demountable campers placed on a jeep, Iv decided this is the way for me.
However in Europe there is limited second hand sales of these, so Iv been looking USA.
I would be looking for a pop up Demountable 3 berth, and I really like the North Star models.
Can anyone tell me any good dealers or good ideas on how to get one second hand. Am I better to buy from USA ?
Basically any help in where I will find a good choice of pop up Demountable. I believe they are called Truck Campers in USA.
Also is their any drawbacks buying from USA ?
And is their any good market places in Europe where I can find second hand demountable.
Many thanks.

You're quite right that they're far more popular, and common, across the pond than in Europe - and almost non-existent in the UK! I've never understood why, as they seem to offer most of the advantages of the Brits' beloved caravan, without the actual towing bit!
They ARE around, but you may see more for sale in, say, Germany than the UK or France. I'm afraid I've no first-hand experience of looking for one though!

Can't see the point in them, except easier to "tow" than a caravan. You would still have to get out of cab to get in the living section, and may not be possible until you have demounted it?? Also look expensive to purchase. No a MH much better

Can see the use in the USA and Canada out in the true wild but in the UK and Europe not so much but if you want to be different go for it.Me I will stick to a coach build motorhome for space and comfort.

I visit a lot of places off the beaten track up in the Arctic Circle, in Finmark. I like the idea of demounting the caper in a remote spot, then be able to get further into the tundra with the 4 wheel drive.
Also up N coast of Scotland lots remote beautiful spots for base camp, and again the jeep to get up the glen.
The pop up versions can be so streamlined the driving will be easy. I think it takes all of 10 min to lower the legs and demount.
I have however been struggling, so far, in finding any good way to make it financially worth the expense in buying in US, and shipping, here, through agents. Possibly the only way would be to buy one myself when I'm in Canada, and organise the shipping, and send it as a gift.
